If you do nothing else while at Niagara Falls you should at least take the Maid of the Mist. My only complaint is about the disposable ponchos, which they seem to recycle, but the volume of them they must go thru is incredible. more

The best view of Niagara Falls is from the Canadian side, and if you want an exhilarating experience, and one that you will never forget, take the "Maid of the Mist" trip to the foot of the Horseshoe Falls - or as close as the Captain dare go! Unless the winds were blowing the wrong direction, the people on the boat I was on had to take cover due to strong winds and water blowing so strong towards us. We arrived in Niagara around 1pm and were on the Maid from the Canadian side by 2pm. The efficiency of the crews is spectacular...one wonders how many people they churn through in an hour.
