Maybe because it was 100 degrees, I did not research the area well enough, and I was with 3 teenagers and a cranky husband, (who in normal times is a sweatheart) we were disappointed. To say the least. We found Old Montreal to be very different from the enchanting place my husbnd and I enjoyed so much 20 years ago.... more

Rue Ste.-Catherine is an interesting place with both good and bad qualities. Since I live in New York I know dirty streets, but this by far was the dirtiest street I have ever visited. This area of Montreal is great. Lots of great bars, strip clubs, and shops. There is always something fun to do in this area. Perfect place for the college crowd or anyone who just wants to party. Can't wait to go again more
