I made several trips to the Imperial War Museum during my ten days in London. This is an amazing museum. My thoughts: First, the presentation of vehicles and airplanes upon entry into the museum itself (The "Large Exhibits" Gallery) is worth the price of admission alone. They range from a Sherman tank to a German V-2 rocket to a British... more

Very interesting and informative. Great for families with free entrance and many interactive activities. I particularly enjoyed the Children's war exhibition - it was like being transported back to 1942. We spent an entire afternoon here and still did not see it all. more

Visited the IWM primarily for the "In Memorium" exhibit and could have spent the whole day here. Very impressive. The Holocaust display was very thought provoking but briliiantly done. more

This museum is amazing. I wish we had budgeted more time because we simply browsed in three hours and hadly put a dent in the first two floors. If you are in to military history, plan to spend the day. If the topic is mildly interesting to you, I would plan at least 4 hours to see the floors. We... more

I had thought about visiting Madam Tussaud, but after reading the reviews I gave up. I came across this museum reading the reviews on London Attractions and I must say have not been disappointed at all. This museum is great and most interesting. I took my two daughters, 13 and 10, and after three hours they were so amused and... more

This museum was the high point of my visit to London. The exhibits are extensive, attractively presented and well documented. They of course concentrate on the British experience, so my fellow Americans may leave wondering how the Brits defeated the Axis with so little help from her Allied associates! My favorite exhibit was the room displaying the Victoria and George... more

We had decided to visit the Imperial War Museum only if we had the time. The day we arrived, we were tired and decided to go see it since it was less than a mile from our hotel. Some of the travel sites and books had listed it as not being for young children. However, my 7 and 9 year... more

It has been many years since my previous visit, and I can say it did not dissappoint. What we thought would be a couple of hours to pass the time, turned into a full day spent at the museum. Friendly and helpful staff, together with outstanding displays and interesting artifacts that even kept our children occupied throughout the visit. more

A friend recommended the Imperial War Museum to us, and since we had a bit of extra time one day, we thought we'd give it a quick look. WOW...we both loved it, and we stayed until closing time. The displays are amazing, from the tanks and the planes and the boats and the submarines, to the downstairs exhibits of the... more

A fascinating exhibition for those who wish to know about Ian Fleming, the author of the James Bond books. Be aware that there is a lot to read, so go when it's quiet and don't expect a lot of film props. Children may find it a bit dull... more
