There isa lot of history in the environs of Edinburgh Castle, but it is the most "commercial" castle I found in Eastern Scotland. Very limited access to rooms/areas - you cannot walk the wall, for example - and most interior rooms do not allow any photograpghy. Wonderful views of the city of Edinburgh, good information on Scottish war heritage. more

Edinburgh Castle is Spectacular! Great Views and full of beautiful museums. A trip to Edinburgh wouldn't be complete without visiting the Castle. You can spend hours winding around the beautiful old building here! more

The castle has a superb view of whole Edinburgh city, and the castle itself is magnificent. I recommend it as "must go" places in Edinburgh. more
