I went to Edinburgh for 3 days, and I climbed up this mountain- Arthur's Seat, which is not far away from the Edinburgh Castle. Well, I went up there, and I thought I might cry. The view was breathtaking. It isn't like the highest mountain or anything, but just seeing the city in all its glory, it was simply magical.... more

I did this walk on a very overcast day. I thought it would take me much longer but managed the whole thing in a couple of hours and that was including taking lots of photos. I joined the path across the road from the Scottish Parliament. I had decided to take the not so steep path and to stop off... more

This is an easy hike and well worth the views at the top. I highly recommend these free views. Be sure to wear shoes with good traction. Hiking boots are ideal; they provide the best ankle support. Bring your camera, too! You won't want to forget the views you will have atop this mountain! I spent about two hours on... more

The was an interesting hike up to some awesome views. We had printed a map on-line before going, though this area is so well used there are criss-crossing trails everywhere. We first stopped to see the chapel ruins; not much left, but picturesque nonetheless. The climb to the top is a good cardio workout, but that makes it easier to... more

Follow the incline to the Salisbury Crags, which change colour as the sun moves across the sky and continue up the hills to the top. Depending on... more

The walk arround Arthurs Seat, via Salisbury Crags is great, tiring but fantastic views. Non-athletic visitors could take the easy path round the bottom. There are also two mini-Lochs to see. Open all year round and free. Perfect! more

It's well worth part of a day to wander up and around Arthur's Seat to take in panoramic views of the city. We packed a lunch from a local bakery and then hiked up the trail, which was a fairly easy walk. The views were great, it was very peaceful and a good way to learn the lay of the... more

However you can take about a 15minuite walk if you turn left at teh bottom entrance and this allows you... more
