We had a limited time to see everything we wanted to see while in Paris, but the Musee du Louvre was definitely at the top of the list. The sheer size of the museum can be overwhelming. I went to the museum's website (www.louvre.fr) and printed out their thematic trail for the masterpieces....it tells the directions to get from the... more

I went to Musee du Louvre 3 months ago. I have only one word to say about it and that is Wow. There are loads of different sculptures and paintings which I really enjoy looking at. I love seeing the world famous Mona Lisa, I'm not surprised it's protected by glass. It would probably take a few days AT LEAST... more

The Louvre is breathtaking, inside and out. As a building, it is one of the most incredibly beautiful anywhere. I also went to Versailles, and I thought it was nothing compared to the Louvre (which was originally a palace, after all). The museum is especially gorgeous at night, when the whole plaza is romantically lit. I don't care what anyone... more

The Louvre didn't amaze me to be honest, perhaps it was because i went at the end of a long day but it definitely didn't appeal to me really! The paintings are nice to look at...for a while...but I can't see how more than a couple of hours could be spent looking at them! We rented the audio guides and... more

This is another of the can't miss things to do in Paris. The building, the exhibits, the size, just beyond what you can imagine. The only negative we found was that it was confusing getting from point a to point b, and we rented the audioguides and wouldn't do that again. more

This museum lives up to its reputation. There are some wonderful artefacts and pieces to see, take your time to appreciate as much as you can. The building itself is also impressive. more

Did the typical thing and went direcly past go to see the Mona Lisa. More interesting to see the crowd looking at the Mona Lisa. However, what was stunning was the Louvre building itself, starting with the Pyramid, but really coming to the fore with the halls and hallways. Went to the Denton wing initially and there are some very... more

This is a great museum that has art beyond your imagination, including the Mona Lisa, which you need to check out. There is also some good snacks in the foyer if you get hungry. Just be sure to arrive early, because it will get real crowded fast. more

What an amazing place! We spent over 6 hours looking at pieces from Ancient Egypt/Greece/Rome, France, Italy, England, the Flemish, Dutch, Renaissance, Napolean apartments.... The list goes on and on and on! We got there early, bought our tickets and grabbed a couple of maps then headed to the cafe for some breakfast. It really is a good idea to... more

This is essential , you must go to see the Mona Lisa. This is the most amazing museum. Get there early to avoid the crowds. The cafes are great and not too overpriced, the restaurants are great. I suggest take the museums own tour , it is fast paced and runs through the main attractions in some detail. Our guide... more
