Nicely redone port area for tourists. Many restaurants, but some are chains from other places. Bice (the original in Milan, Italy is great). This one was not very good and expensive. If you live in NY, Houston or Dallas you can try it there. We ate mostly at local and loved the food. more

Puerto Madero is nothing but a canal with boats and super expensive restaurants designed for tourists...The restauranst are extremely expensive...Not worth it...And other than the restaurants, there's not much to do...There are two old ships docked by the canal...They are beautiful, and entrance is free...but that can be done in 30 minutes...Ohter than that, please don't get scammed in those... more

Be careful when getting picked up at night even from a radio taxis for the counterfeit currency exchange when visiting this touristy area. I find most of the scam problems or pick-pocketing takes place in areas frequented by tourists and Puerto Madero is one of them. Puerto Madero is a great shopping and dining district in buenos aires. the outdoor mall is right on the river which is very scenic at night.
