The tour here was much better, I felt, than that of the first Taliesin in Spring Green. The property itself is interesting but rather experimental -- some stuff works and some doesn't. Wright liked to keep changing it. Unlike the prarie style works of his early and middle career, which seem timeless, this one defintiely has the feel of the... more
We decided to go to Taliesin West because we were going passed and it filled in a gap in our schedule. If I had seen the cost of the tours before reading the TripAdvisor reviews then we probably wouldn’t have looking into it further as, whilst I love Rennie Macintosh and Morris, I am less keen on Lloyd Wrights work... more
Not cheap, but you get what you paid for. I wouldn't recommend this tour for kids or teens; you need to have a rudimentary interest to come here in the first place. We took the 90 minute $32 tour and as we arrived early, there were only four of us to one very knowledgeable and personable guide who really knew... more
We were a bit taken a back to the $32 per person cost for the 90 minute tour, but I'm glad we did it. Not much of an architect buff myself but I found myself utterly intrigued the entire time. Wonderfully knowledgeable and entertaining guide. Tour came with a bottle of water (a salvation in the hot summer) and they... more
me and my husband went to the Taliesin West it is a very interesting tour and you do learn alot of interesting facts about Frank Lloyd Wright. things he invented like the lights in movie theaters to help you get up in the middle of the movie to walk to the restroom or out for a leg stretch rather than... more
Took the 90 min. tour with my husband and father-in-law (who are both engineers) who absolutely loved it, and surprisingly I did too. Cost is approx $30 for the 90 min. tour (actually ended up being closer to 2 hrs long) but they offer a discount for seniors and students, and it was definitely worth the cost. You must take... more
I echo what the other posters have said about how nice the 90 minute insight tour is. At $ 32 a person it was more than I am used to paying, but worth it. One hint, get there early to avoid the lines and crowds later in the day. Enjoy more
You need a car to get here. We spent 45 minutes in 110 degree hat waiting for a taxi. - The tour was worht it. One option is to find a hotel that is located close to Taliesin that offers shuttle service. Our hotel was outside the 5 mile radius. more
I generally think Wright is an overrated architect, so I was not sure I wanted to visit his studio outside Scottsdale. But it was chilly and we had a couple of hours to kill before the baseball game one day, so my husband and I dragged our two reluctant boys along. We were too late for the 60 minute tour,... more
