We had a great train trip. A little pricy, as we had the luxury ticket, but worth the price. It started out with a staged cowboy show. We had the rear parlor car so we could use the outside deck. They served continental breakfast on the way out and appetizers on the return trip. Our waitress/bartender was very friendly. We... more

Just returned from a great trip to the Grand Canyon. Booked a package through AAA and was pleased with the value. The Grand Canyon Railway is a enjoyable , nostolgic way to get to the Canyon. We sat in first class and had wide, cushy seats. Our cabin attendant Robert was sensational. It takes about two hours from Williams to... more

Grand Canyon Railway We had a wonderful time. We rode in the Parlor car. This is the way to go if the price is in your range. I liked having access to the rest of the cars. The service personnel were excellent. From reading other reveiws, I was concerned about tips but was not cohearsed at all. The entertainers were... more

I can't understand all the bad reviews I have read on this. We went on the train on 5th Oct. First off we stayed in Williams for 3 nights and took the train on the Sunday. Ok, the show before the train left was a bit corny, but it got a laugh out of the crowd watching and the kids... more

We enjoyed every minute of our 3 day 2 night package. Our trip to Arizona was a once in a lifetime event. Our time at the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel was very comfortable. We found the food choices at Max & Thelma's to be fresh and tasty. Two of us have food allergies to wheat and were able to find... more

This ghastly trip was the absolute low point of our first visit to the South West.> The route is dull - only the last few miles consist of anything but scrub> The train crawls along painfully slowly> A host is assigned to each car to make sure nobody gets any peace. This starts with lengthy, self-indulgent, content-free... more

On August 29, 2008, We (FOUR GIRLFRIENDS) Traveled in the Parlour Car to the Grand Canyon. Our significant others dropped us off and were to meet us at the El Tavor Lounge which they did. We just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our trip with "TINA" the bartender. She helped to make our trip MEMORABLE. Not... more

This place is a complete rip-off. From the pre-ride wild west "show" to the constant haranguing for "tips" from the staff, it was just awful. And don't waste your money for upgrade to observation or higher class thinking it will be a respite from small children. It ain't. And don't bother complaining to "Krystal" or anyone else for that matter.... more

I can see why some of the reviews are so bad. I LOVE choo choos! So we were going to book the GCRR for our 25th with 2 other couples...well over $1,000. Their website would continue to give me a note that they encountered an error and to try later. Same message for 2 days!! Says to enter your AAA... more

Grand Canyon Railway would be a great alternative for the National Park South Rim Parking Situation. Unfortunately, this once "Mom and Pop" well run operation has gone to the Corporate DOGS. Xanterra Corporation bought out this entity a couple years ago, bled it dry and has apparently resold recently. Unless things change drastically in the near future, those working for... more
