Being from Europe I can tell you, it is as real as it gets, simply because 170 containers of bricks have been shipped over from Austria and Italy to build the cellars. The castle has been completed over the last 13 years, what an incredible place! I took the reserve tour for $ 35 (1 hour tour and 30 min... more

The owner/builder of this authentic Tuscan castle winery is a self made man who resurrected his grandfather's V. Sattui San Francisco wine label in St. Helena in the early 1970s. V.Sattui still offers free wine tasting in Napa Valley when most other wineries don't. 14 years ago Daryl (now "Dario) Sattui bought this land on a hill opposite Sterling winery... more

We spent more than 2 and half hours at this winery. Absolutely loved the tour...very informative, interesting and finished off with some good wine at the end. Joe was our tour guide and he was funny and down to earth. At the cellar we tasted wine from the barrel, we toured the torture chamber, banquet room and the discussion room...pretty... more

This medieval replica castle is a must-see if you are visiting the Napa Valley. You don't have to go inside to enjoy the castle. The outside is already very impressive. They charge $15 for a tour of the castle with three-wine tasting. I feel it is a bit much for non-drinkers and wish they offer a separate tour for people... more

One word -- awesome. Having read some of the reviews, we were going to just take pictures from the outside and leave, but once there, we decided to take the tour. At $25pp, the tour is not cheap, but was totally worth it. The tour took more than 1 hour. Our guide (Kerri) was superb. She told us many interesting... more

I had a completely different experience than the previous reviewer... our tasting guide was VERY nice, funny, laid back, and informative. The wines aren't amazing, but they are very, very good... Especially the medium bodied reds. Also, they have unique styles which are well worth a try, and some of their bottles are a steal at ~30 bucks. The bottom... more

This is a great winery--My husband and I went to the Castello di Amorosa today for the taste, we skipped the tour. We don't like dry wines so we picked this winery specifically because it had plenty of gewertztraminers, moscats, sauvignon blancs etc. We got to pick five wines each so we were able to try 10 wines. (I believe... more

Saw this castle from the Sterling vineyards and decided to check it out. The price for the tasting was $15 pp and they were extremely adamant about not letting any children in. One woman was carrying a baby and she wasn't allowed to bring in the baby. We thought that was a little overkill. The castle was interesting and there... more

Did not take the tour - no patience for that sort of thing. The $10 wine tasting was fine. You can see much of the outside/top of the building on the way to the tasting. Wonderful view. more

To imagine that somebody had the fantasy and patience and resources to put this place together is incredible. I've spent a lot of time in the Tuscan hills and you've got to hand it to the owner for his incredible attention to detail in creating this amazing recreation of a hundreds of years old medievel castle. Not to say anything... more
