Timing is everything for visiting Cedar Creek Falls. It depends on how wet the winter and spring are. Spring is a sure bet to enjoy the falls. If you wait until June you are gambling. The falls are great but I never go after May. That is what the beach is for - summer. Also if there has been a... more

Have been to Cedar Creek Falls 3 times this Spring. Lots of water comming over the Falls and in the pool below. Above the Falls, there are great rocks to lay out on and pools of water to refresh in. more

This photo was taken May of 06. My brothers and I hiked down to the falls. It was absolutely gorgeous. The hike took about 1.5hrs from the parking site to the falls. The pool below the falls where this picture was taken is beautiful. The water temp was chilly but we were still able to go swimming! It was a... more

I remember a weekend in April 1978. I was on a three day pass from MCAS Yuma AZ, and myself and two friends spent a weekend camping at the falls. I have always held that weekend as one of my fondest memories. We hiked from downtown Julian to the falls through beautiful farmland and hills. Down a dirt road through a... more

I went there on July 8th, 2005 and it was excellant. At saddleback we had a notion that the trail went left, but in fact it was to the right. So we went on a mile "warmup" before starting the hike. It is very important to bring lots of water, especially in the summertime. I brought 4 liters but had... more

Was just there today, and came home to see what write-ups existed on the web. Found this, with outdated info. The falls were beautiful, and there was plenty of water. The pool at the base of the falls is anywhere from six to ten feet deep, with sand at the bottom. Plenty deep to jump off the boulders (the highest... more

Cedar Creek Falls is an awesome place to see. I was there only a couple of times this summer and the water was just a trickle over the summit. The pool at the bottom was very refreshing after the 3.5 mile hike in 100 degree heat with the water being, just a guess, around a cool 75 degrees. I've been... more

The hike down to the falls was long, but it is all downhill. It took us about an hour to hike. The falls was only a trickle, but that is common for August. The pool was still plenty deep (about 20 ft), and we could jump off the cliffs and wade in the pool. We stayed there for about 6... more
