You can find great heritage and history of LA right there on Olvera Street. It was over 100 degrees the day we were there, but there was a nice, shady courtyard with little kiosks selling things set up. We each bought something. It was all very cheap and nothing has fallen apart yet! They also have cheap food and drink... more
Olvera Street, where L.A. began, gives the tourist and resident a feel of being in Old Mexico. There are many lovely, original buildings with shops selling colorful handicrafts and items from Mexico. This historical gem is in the heart of Los Angeles and right across the street from the big Los Angeles train station. Pleasant place to stroll and especially for having lunch. Everyone visiting Los Angeles should add Olvera Street to their must see list of attractions. more
