Brookgreen Gardens is well worth a visit and provides a perfect contrast to the cheese that is Myrtle Beach. Brookgreen is best known for the botanical gardens and world class statuary art. The garden is beautiful and does include a variety of southern plants including a lane flanked by several huge live oaks, lots of palms and a wide variety... more

We only spent a few hours here but easily could have spent a full day. Beautiful gardens, a great setting, a bit of history, and even wildlife--you should not miss visiting the gardens while in the area. more

Brookgreen Gardens is a piece of paradise on the east coast. Whether you enjoy walking through mythologically inspired sculpture gardens, experiencing the vibrant colors of the masterfully tended flora, or encountering the myriad of South Carolina animals and insects that make the gardens their home--you will find a visit here wonderfully rewarding. I loved everything about this place, and I'll... more

This is such a lovely place. You need an appreciation for art, culture and history so the children may get bored but I can't get enough of Brookgreen Gardens. I have visted many times over the last couple of years and it gets better everytime. The outdoor entertainment is great. The zoo has lots to see. The presentations by Ron... more

Researching for a 3-day great pals' getaway to Myrtle Beach, my pal found Brookgreen Gardens. I was expecting 30 minutes of oohs and aahsm but discovered instead endless rejuvenating adventures trying to absorb all the wonder that one can take in ... from the visionary brilliance of the Huntington's, to kind-hearted people who obviously love taking an endless mantle forward... more

I just loved Brookgreen Gardens. The sculptures are awesome and the gardens are beautiful. We took the tour where one of the volunteers fed the animals in the sanctuary. It was a great opportunity to see a lot of the wildlife. The animals have all been injured in some way and are not able to be released into the wild... more

I Love Myrtle Beach. Whats more, I love Brookgreen. It is an amazing seven thousand (or was it 70,000) acres of land that consist of rice fields, statuary gardens, fountains, an aviary, and even a mini-zoo. It has everything you want to see and more. I visit Brookgreen at leas four times a year. You have to stop here if... more

We were visiting Myrtle Beach again and friends suggested we go here. It's about 20 minutes from Myrtle Beach, Wacamaw mall area. Grounds are gorgeous, but much larger than we anticipated. If you're not into a lot of walking, they have free wheelchairs at the visitor center and most exhibits seemed easy to get to on flat ground. We spent... more

If you go to SC you have to see this place. It is huge and every bit that I saw of it was landscaped beautifully. The place was owned by a couple and the wife was a sculptor. They decided to open their property to let people come in and see her work. At this time there are sculptures by... more

Brookgreen Gardens is a wonderful place to visit. It's located about 30 minutes south of Myrtle Beach in Murrells Inlet, SC. It's very easy to find for those who haven't spent much time in the area because it's on Highway 17, which is the main highway following the coast through the resort and fishing towns on South Carolina's Grand Strand.... more
