It was GRRREAT! Excellent collection of animals. The chimpanzee trainer showed us how Chico (the chimpanzee) could put on clothes, do a flip, etc. From the ring-tailed lemurs to the bison, all were enjoyed. Corn was a favorite of most animals. Many employees were around to care for the animals. Take the time to check it out! more

This may be a good place for people to "see animals", but it is a decidedly bad place for the animals themselves. Except in pictures from the 1800's, I have never before seen a zoo that keeps large animals in concrete/iron bar enclosures...and these were so small that the animals had only a few feet of space to walk. We... more

Lots of animals, but dirty and poorly kept. If you are repulsed by sickening odors and animals whose surroundings are pitiful, find another place to spend your time and money. more

I love zoos, but was very dissappointed by this one. Many of the animals live in deplorable conditions. Even my four year old noticed how bad it was and how neurotic some of the animals had become (pacing back and forth). more

Im not sure how to rate this "adventure". We are very big zoo people. We have the NC zoo...which we consider great and very "animal/people friendly". We walked in to buffalo and deer clammering in a field to get to you to have you feed them though a chain link fence. We then went into the chamber of horrors where... more

This is one of the best zoos I have ever been to. You are up close and personal with the animals! The daily rate is only $7! We spent 3-4 hours there walking around. Wear a pair of sneakers because there are a lot of exposed roots and unpaved trails. The lions and tiger were literally 3 arms lengths from... more

i witnessed animals left with no water, some stuck in very small metal cages ( some looked very poorly put together ex. duct tape) the animals hardly had any room to move. it was sad! staff members were rude. these poor animals should not be forced to live in these conditions! more

When we walked in the door to buy our tickets, we were immediatley taken aback by the sour expressions and rude treatment. Yes, this is a "Mom and Pop" establishment, but they sure don't seem happy to have visitors to their zoo. The grounds are immense, however most of the animals were in tiny cages with no room to move... more
