I've always enjoyed tourist attractions. The tour of Ben & Jerry's ice cream factory definitely qualifies. The tour is short and to the point - a ten minute movie introducing you to the history of the product, a glassed-in walkway above the floor of the factory, and samples afterward. People generally like this tour and enjoy the gift shop. An... more

Basically, You hang out in a gift shop, you pay for the tour, then you go in a room and watch a video for 10 min., go up some stairs to look out a glass window over the equipment which is just Ben & Jerry's ice cream cups going down an assembly line. The tour guide was some college kid... more

What a boring tour. The actual location was nice and cheery with the typical Ben and Jerry color explosion. The waiting area also had interesting nostalgic artifacts from the factories inception. My complaint is that I had to pay for this lousy tour. The tour consists of a brief historical movie, a brief look at part of the manufacturing plant... more

We have toured the factory in the past, and didn't have time to do so again, though we would have like too. We thoroughly enjoyed it several years ago. The place was packed with people, as it was Columbus Day weekend. We did stop to buy some ice cream and visit the gift shop. The ice cream is simply divine,... more

Dont go on the weekends - they arent making ice cream. The line for ice cream was so ridiculously long so we just went into a different town where we enjoyed the delicious treat all to ourselves. there is a ben and jerry's in most Vermont towns, we observed. more

Yes it costs $3 and yes you have to wait but it is well worth it. Although the lines may seem long, they move quickly and the end result is worth it. Bought tickets at about 3:40 for the tour and the next available tour was at 4:30. Tours do run every 10 minutes but they fill up. No big... more

Well, I was excited to sample some ben and jerry's (and you do get to do it), but unfortunately we went during Christmas shut-down and no ice cream was being made. For $3 each for the tour, it would have been much better to see something happening, but hey, it's just $3. They show a movie of the making of... more

I am not a big ice cream eater, but when in Vermont, you have to go to Ben & Jerry’s just to say you have been there. We made the first tour of the day, which started right about the same time as a storm that was coming to the area. The walls were really colorful and there is ice... more

The tour started out with a short historical movie, and then moved into the production line where you could view how the ice cream is produced, followed by another short video. The best part of course was the ice cream sample at the end of the tour. While it was only $3 per adult, this was all kind of boring.... more
