We booked our hotel through Fairway Hotel (across the street), but were put in the Central Hotel when we arrived. I had heard in previous posts that this was a common occurrence and that the hotels are roughly the same quality so we didn't really care. However, we had to come back to London later on in our trip, and... more

My partner and I stayed at the Central Hotel for only one night in a quick stopover in London, but we really enjoyed the experience. We checked in late, at 9:30pm, but had rung the hotel earlier in the day and been advised that this would be no problem. Indeed, check in was very easy, and the man on reception... more

From May 28 to June 4 we had a room in hotel Central. Reservation was for hotel Fairway across the street (common receptionist), but when we came we found out we should stay in hotel Central. I don't know about Fairway (we didn't even enter), but we were delighted with Central. We were ready for every kind of surprise and... more

Previous reviewer (Scary Miss Mary) said it all. having stayed at the Central for 3 nights in May 2008, I can confirm everything word by word. But hey, this is London -- where somebody said hotels can be divided into two categories: the expensive and dirty ones, and the dirty and a little less expensive ones. For example: the toilet... more

The location is ecxellent ,a few steps from King's Cross where a major tube station is and quite a few bus stops. The hotel is on a very quiet street (only small hotels on it). Staff at the reception was always kind not so much staff in the breakfast room, the girl mainly working there probably doesn't know how to... more

Never go to this hotel!! Don't get me wrong it was in a great location just being off Kings Cross and St Pancras train stations. We were stopping off here for a couple of nights before heading home from a holiday in Italy. We did arrive quite late in the evening and was darkish, but my first impressions of the... more

Hotel very well located for people coming by train. It is in front of St Pancras international train station (Eurostar). The tube is at 2 minutes walk! Rooms are clean but still to do a lot of work in the aisle... Very well welcome! Breakfast really nice! more

We had booked at the Farway Hotel, but they sent us to the Central, because the room was prepared only in the Central and not yet in Faraway. The two hotels are of the same owner. The triple room (1 single bed and 1 double) and the bathroom were really small and essential. For three adults it was too narrow.... more

Just came back from London and we stayed in the Central/ Fairways hotel in Argyle St London. To say the room was basic would be on the money. We didn't realise at the time we were signing up for a shared bathroom/shower. We arrived on the Sunday afternoon and we asked if there was anyway we could get an en... more
