I have just returned from yet another stay at the Craig-y-Dderwen, which must be congratulated for its unique excellence, set in extensive picture-postcard grounds running alongside the River Conwy. Since retirement, I have travelled widely on my own, but frequently visit this hotel to enjoy its calm and relaxed ambience, making it feel like a second home. The hotel is... more

My wife and I have been regular visitors to this beautiful welsh village for the last 15 years and over the years we have stayed in most of the hotels the village has to offer, we have always found them to be generally of quite a poor standard and always right next to a busy and noisy trunk road (A5).... more

The hotel is in a beautiful setting a 10 min walk away from the main centre. The food (breakfast and dinner) is very good (and relatively pricey but generally good vfm). The hotel is priced at the top end of 3 star; unfortunately some parts of our experience were less than 3 star: - the room, although clean, smelled of... more

You get what you pay for.... whilst not the cheapest of stays, the overall standard was excellent. The staff were personable and helpful, the accomodation clean and the restaurant service and food first class. We had a lovely view of the river from our room. Will visit there again. more

We've been here many moons ago and decided we'd go back as a change. They've done the restaurant up and the decor is quite nice. The food was also very nice but the portions were quite small and we both left hungry despite having 3 courses. The damage was £85.00 for 2 aperitifs, 3 courses and 1 bottle of wine,... more

I stayed at the Riverside Hotel with my husband and young daughter over Easter Weekend. I was immediately impressed by the warmth of our greeting by the reception desk, and the rest of the staff was very friendly throughout our stay. I admit to being a bit of a spoiled brat when it comes to hotels, and my heart did... more

After escaping a very unpleasant stay at Elen’s Castle Hotel in nearby Dolwyddelan (which threatened to spoil our whole holiday to Wales), finding Craig-y-Dderwen was a breath of fresh air. We only stayed one night, but it was everything we could have hoped for. The hotel was in such a peaceful setting, down a little laneway and set alongside the... more

We had the four poster room with the river view. The room was lovely and the view spectacular. This view was enhanced as we had a lovely balcony to sit on. The room was very clean and well furnished. The mattress was a little uncomfortable. The bathroom was clean and had a spa bath. It was a little let down... more
