Simply put, this is a marvelous hotel. The service is unfailingly friendly and superb, the building is beautiful, historic, and located within a five minute walk of all of Dresden's sights of tourist interest (and directly across the street from the Zwinger Palace). I stayed in a deluxe room, which had double-high ceilings, moldings, six super tall windows facing in... more

Location - Excellent. It's steps from every major tourist site in dresden. The zwinger and residence are right at your doorstep and the rest of historic dresden isn't more than a block or two away. Rooms - Excellent. We booked one suite and one non-suite and they were both nice and VERY spacious. the non-suite had absurdly high ceilings, probably... more

This was a rather more expensive hotel than I'd usually opt for but I was impressed with the place and ended up very pleased that I chose it. It felt like the smartest and most expensive place in town (not sure if that's literally true but it gives off that aura) and my fellow guests mostly dressed accordingly. It is... more

A wonderful place to stay. Located in the heart of Dresden next to the opera house and within minutes of all the historic sites. A beautiful building rebuilt in 1995 to the highest standards. The rooms are beautifully appointed. Great bathrooms and wonderful furnishings in an art deco style. Excellent breakfast buffet. The staff are highly trained. Very professional but... more

Stayed at the Kempinski while visiting the Christmas Markets. The hotel is situated in a prime, central spot which can be walked to all the major attractions and of course the Christmas Markets. On arrival the receptionist showed us to our room which was wonderful and we had a lovely view of the Royal Castle opposite. Concierge were very helpful... more

This is a very nice hotel. Though it is a new building, it was was constructed to exacting details of the former structure that was destroyed in the 1945 bombings. The front desk was very good, we were checked in and then escorted to our room by the same person who checked us in. The luggage had already been delivered... more

This hotel could not be more central, across the street from the Royal Palace (with the fabulous Green Vault) and with a tunnel underground to the Zwinger Museum complex. The best views are of these buildings, but the views of the large interior courtyard are also quite pleasant. Our deluxe room was quite spacious, with contemporary and rather Asian-influenced furnishings.... more

The public rooms and location are splendid and of all hotels tough to beat. My stay was not 5 star for the very average food. First up the bar, open to the street, was dark and gloomy and stank of stale beer. The resaturant service was good but the food quite dull. A deep fried potato cake appeared to be... more

We stayed here because of the reviews in Trip Advisor. I wasn't disappointed, but I wasn't overwhelmed with service. As a Leading Hotel of the World spot, we expected a nice hotel and expensive. We got a nice hotel, and really expensive (350 Euros- No breakfast). It had all the amenities we expect, and I can't fault the hotel, except... more
