Very good place to visit. Hotel was clean, good atmosphere and quite helpful staff. The single room was spacious enough and the bathroom was bigger than a normal hotel bathroom. Stayed at this very centrally located hotel for 4 nights October 2008. Easy access to Las Ramblas and Gothic Quarter. On a main road, which we didnt find noisy as we were on 8th floor. Just returned from 4 nights at the Montcada. Lots of great things to say about it: We weren't sure about where to be based in the city and plumped for somewhere in the Old Town. Nice, clean & comfortable hotel in the Gothic Quarter, directly opposite the La Ramblas strip. We had a wait whilst checking in said there was a problem with the booking...PANIC set as then they asked us to have a seat, however the problem was quickly sorted and apologised for the wait, explained there had been a problem with the booking... more

Great location for historical areas, chic hotel with friendly reception staff, and now has small restaurant in Lobby (and room service), but be warned service can take 45 minutes or more ! Excellent roof top terrace with Jacuzzi . more
