Returned this morning from a 4 night stay at the Emperador. The Hotel is a business hotel and does not have the cosy atmosphere of a holiday hotel it is functional and efficient with staff that have that city attitude however they were very helpful when needed. We booked the Emperador because my mom lives a block from there but couldn't accomodate our two families. So we obviously know the area extremely well, and being in August, we thought the kids would enjoy the rooftop pool in 40C weather (good thing we did, because there was a heat wave the day we arrived). The pool is huge for a roof top one, the water refreshing, and the complimentary gin & tonics in the Emerador Club room were even more refreshing. For the price this has to be the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. We booked a club room for a romantic weekend, and were almost reassured by the fact it was so expensive (about €720 including taxes for 3 nights breakfast not included!) as we were after luxury and relaxation.
