got very cheap price so was well worth it. large rooms , rather daggy hotel but right in the main street, did not find the traffic a problem. was very comfy and clean. didnt eat at restaurant, did order rooms service which was good. chcek was very very efficent and professional staff more

Parking was not a problem because we got to the hotel early. Could be hard to find a spot if you left it too late. Reception very good but unfortunately it was all down hill from there! The bathroom floor, shower recess and sink had hairs in them! We tried to contact housekeeping but they were not answering the phone!... more

Warm welcome at reception. Modern room, clean and well laid out. For late arrivals, room service available until 10 pm. Modern bathroom with toiletries, but no shower cap for the ladies? I was booked in here for a work conference ,So we stayed and worked in the Hotel for 3 days.I would recommend leaving the Hotel and taking advantage of the Cafes for breakfast. I frequently travel to Launceston for work. I've tried most of the other accomodation alternatives - larger hotels, boutique hotels, B&Bs etc. Whilst I wasn't thrilled with the Mercure it offers a reasonable value/quality proposition and is better (at least for me) than the alternatives. more
