The Resurgence is a wonderful retreat! I have never been to such a luxurious cabin in the woods. I am a frequent traveler to 5-star hotels throughout Asia and this was truly service beyond any I have received anywhere. My husband and I stayed at the one of the Bush Chalets (Kakapo) for two nights. Clare and Peter were the... more

We stayed at the resurgence lodge for a couple of days over new year and have to say it was thoroughly enjoyable. Clare and Peter coulod not do enough for us and were very accomodating even though we arrived pretty late for dinner on the first night due to an overambitious drive from franz josef. Stayed in the main lodge... more

We stayed at the Resurgence for 2 nights in Mar 2008. The setting is absolutely beautiful. There are trails to walk on or you can just sit outside and enjoy the scenery. We stayed in a Bush Chalet. The Chalet was really nice and I loved it that we had extra privacy with our own chalet. Claire keeps the kitchen... more

This is the real deal in relaxation with style. We stayed in a bush chalet which was beautiful and spacious with everything we needed. It hasn't been done on the cheap but neither is it ostentatious, its just great!! We dined at the main house with other guests- incredible food, great service - all very civilised but not at all... more

Clare and Peter have perfected hospitality, and have thought of every detail. We stayed in the Lonely Lake bush lodge (the bush lodges are standalone cabins that are very private) and totally loved it. The décor was gorgeous—lots of natural wood, earthy colors, fantastic light, and high-quality linens. Our bathroom had a huge footed tub and a large, open shower.... more

This place is simply amazing, surroundings are gorgeous, food was great, hosts are knowledgeable and very helpful. We stayed in one of the bush chalets surrounded by the forest, it was a pure bliss. more

We've joined the club of lucky guests to have stayed at The Resurgence. It's not just a hotel in which to stay while you're tramping the Abel Tasman or visiting the shores. . . it is a very pleasant place to experience in itself. The lush mountain canyon is alive with bird song and the beauty of the surrounding national... more

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Resurgence. Clare & Peter (the proprieters) could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The rooms are very comfortable and modern, while still maintaining the charm and character of a boutique B&B. The food is homemade and excellent... and they accomodated my dietary needs very well! They also helped us book some accomodations... more

I couldn't have imagined a more relaxed and comfortable place to start our honeymoon in NZ. The views from our cottage were outstanding, the daily dose of fresh bread tasty, and the massages we had the first night were a perfect way to relax after 29 hours of travel from Michigan. I would recommend this for anyone looking for a... more

The Resurgence comes as something of a surprise. Wandering around the Nelson area we heard of The Resurgence and its english owners and decided it to give it a go. The Lodge was full so we were given a very spacious cabin surrounded by bushland. The cabin, on two levels was self contained and very well appointed. Each day we... more
