The old Guatapanal has been bought by a new owner, was refurbished, and has a new staff and philosophy. The Guatapanal was always set on a gorgeous spot near las Terrenas, in the Dominican Republic. Now the place has been renamed the "Viva Wyndham Samaná" Resort, and it is one of the nicest places to visit in the Caribbean. A... more

We travel frequently to Las Terrenas and love the area. On our last trip we found out about Guatapanal and attempted to visit the hotel for a tour to see if it would be a nice place to stay or refer friends traveling to the area, unfortunately we were not allowed to even go past the gate and after speaking... more
