I picked this hotel for my honeymoon last September. I had read reviews previously saying that to be treated well you should dress smartly. So my wife and I did just that, and Im glad we did. The reception from the front of house staff was never anything other than frosty although the restaurant staff were excellent. Our room was... more

We had travelled on the Orient Express as Honeymooners and arrived in Prague as newcomers to the City - we're very well travelled and as a rule understand that Hotels can have their off days but overall after a couple of days at the hotel we were happy to leave and get back to the kind of service that we... more

We stayed here for 5 nights as part of a tour group. This is supposed to be a 5-star hotel, but in my opinion it's far from this rating. Carpet in hallway and room had numerous stains; one couple in our tour group changed rooms because the carpet in their room was so bad. Parts of hallways had nice tile,... more

A few things that are important to know about me before reading this review. I am a vetern traveler in Europe and understand the European hotel rating system. With that said, Your experience here will vary from Grand to mediocre solely on the room you book. What the Carlos IV will not tell you is that they have built a... more

We stayed at hotel for 3 nights, wished we could have stayed longer. First impression on entering hotel was this looks very luxurious all the old features kept from original bank. Staff were very friendly and attentive all could speak adequate english. Rooms were bigger than other city hotels we have stayed in before. Bathroom was very nice which had... more

Beautiful hotel, with fabulous decorations. Staff were very friendly and helpful; they all spoke English well. The location is great, just ten minutes walk to the old town square and other sights ( avoid walking the street behind the hotel late at night; lots of transients hang around there). The hotel bar and the restaurant were great. The rooms were... more

We stayed at the Carlo IV for two nights at the end of August. We had arranged for the hotel car service to collect us from the airport. On arrival we couldn't find our driver, so called the reception desk. They were very apologetic, the driver was delayed due to an accident on the motorway, but would be with us... more

From the outside the building looks ordinary but inside the hotel is beautiful, lovely decor and very luxurious. My standard room was bit small and had no view but was still very nice for 1 person. The spa area looks wonderful with a large indoor pool, jacuzzis and sauna, the only negative was the air and water were freezing cold,... more

Impressive conversion of a former bank building, with hugely impressive public rooms. Fairly quiet but reasonably central location. Standard of service, food and decoration good (so it should be, at the price...) but bedroom surprisingly small (ours was a superior one, so I wonder what the standard ones must be like). However, we were completely won over by the bottle... more

We have just returned from ten nights at the Carlo IV. The hotel is beautiful and we have never experienced such incredible service. From the moment we arrived the staff did everything possible to ensure we had a memorable vacation in Prague. Here are just a few examples: Upon our arrival, the man at the front desk left the hotel... more
