The Caravelle is awesome. I read in Lonely Planet that the Hyatt was "obviously the best hotel in town" but am certainly glad I didn't listen to the writer. We checked out the Hyatt, very boring business hotel!! The Caravelle is all about Saigon, great location, smoking areas, Casino on site, roof top outdoor lounge, restaurants, just great and a... more

We stayed at the Caravelle for 3 nights during the Tet festival in February. It is in a great spot close to everything and amazing views from our room. The service there was excellent and the rooms clean and spacious. The breakfast buffet was probably the best I have ever seen. Would certainly reccoment this hotel to anyone more

This Hotel is truly a first class hotel. The history of the Indo China wars is the backdrop for much of the hotels ambiance. The bar upstairs overlooks the opera house and has an extremely historical past. When Saigon fell in 1975, AP reporters described the scene from the bar; the story goes that 7 pulitzer prize winning articles were... more

Service was excellent, staff was very helpful, nice rooms, and great pool. Only draw back I had was, very little storage space (two small drawers in the entire room and counterspace in bathroom was quit narrow). All in all a great place to stay and l would do stay there again. more

Stayed here for about 5 nights in a Signature (tower) room with access to the Signature Lounge (excellent breakfast and nice snacks/drinks during the day, plus a fresh fruit basket every day with delicious local produce like dragon fruit). Comfortable room, good sized bathroom, nice bed/linens, and good views of Saigon. In addition, the staff in the Signature lounge booked... more

Stayed here with my MBA cohort whilst consulting for local firms. The rooms are large and clean, but the place hasn't been updated in ten years so little bits are beginning to let down this five star (eg. My bed sagged so I kept rolling into the middle). I'd say in a first-world city this hotel would only be four... more

Average for it's class. Generally had trouble in getting advise from staff about local conditions. Difficulty in communicating as no one had good English. Generally staff were efficient but brusque. Found staff at Majestic and Sheraton warmer. more

As the title says, the best part about the Caravelle Hotel is the fact that you get a 4 star experience without the overly uptight service and stuffy atmosphere. We stayed at the Hotel, but walked over to the Park Hyatt, the Sheraton, and the Sofitel (down the way by the Zoo) and found the other three to be overly... more
