The Himawari is a big, modern hotel with large rooms and excellent facilities, but no particular Cambodian charm. It sits alongside the Mekong, but not all rooms face the river - so its a good idea to ask for a river view when you book. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable, and well supplied with mineral water. The pool is... more

We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of a fabulous trip to northern Vietnam and Cambodia. There didn't seem to be many nice hotels in Phnom Penh at the time we booked our trip and this one looked ok on the internet. Don't be fooled. Our room was bland, every drawer and cupboard stank of dirty feet and... more

Spent 4 days here in February. We booked a studio but were upgraded to a 2 bed 2 bath apartment. This was very clean, very spacious, although the view of the room overlooked the maintenance yard this really didnt bother us. The hotel is well located in a quiet area of the city and about 15/20 min walk to busy... more

We stayed in the Himawari during the Water Festival in November (when the population of Phnom Penh swells from 1 million to 2 million - or so I'm told!). The Himawari is located right in the centre of the activity. This provided a great atmosphere and some entertainment (like the four of us getting moto-taxis through the Cambodian crowds). The... more

We have just returned from Cambodia and the best bit about Phnom Penh was this hotel, it is totally luxurious, very clean, friendly and helpful staff, great breakfasts and gorgeous rooms. I can recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone - very pleased with our selection ! more

We stayed at the Himawari for three nights in early February before heading off to Siem Reap. We have two children, ages 10 and 12, and were also traveling with my mother-in-law, so I was attracted to the extra space of the "two-bedroom executive suite". Pros: extremely spacious, including a kitchen, dining room, and living room plus two full baths.... more

We stayed at the Himawari hotel for 6 nights whilst visiting Cambodia; it was our first stop before moving on to Siem Reap and then other parts of Cambodia. We found the Himawari to be probably one of the best stays in Cambodia, The service was great, and the staff friendly, the food was excellent. The rooms were big and... more

Modern large impersonal apparthotel complex in very good location close to sightseeing in central PP. Don't expect a proper full service hotel. Korean owned, with minimal bar / restaurant facilities and a somewhat unfurnished feel , not much service and unmaintained external areas , it did not suit us. Pool OK, but area around a bit scruffy. Appartments are large,... more

We spent in total three nights at Himawari. We choose this hotel because we wanted to do some sightseeing, as well play tennis, relaxing and do some excercise at the gym. The tennis court is 80% booked by external guets. Therefore you don't have a chance to reserve the court, if you are not able to play in the sun... more

Stayed at the Himawari Hotel for 6 nights whilst visiting Cambodia and before moving on to another part of Cambodia. The Himawari was excellent in terms of cleanliness and the room was like a small flat which included a almost full size kitchen, fridge freezer, huge dressing area with 2 double wardrobes, safe and lovely bathroom. The bed was a... more
