We stayed in Holiday Inn in Colombo for 1 night st the beginning of our First Choice Discover Sri Lanka tour. The hotel rooms were clean and comfortable - slightly more shabby than Holiday Inn's in the UK but still comfortable. We ate our evening meal in one of the restaurants downstairs (I forget which one is was, as there... more

Me and my wife stayed here for the 1st night of our honeymoon in Sri Lanka. This hotel has a great location, right next to The Galle Face Hotel and Galle Face Green, minutes from Slave Island and Pettah District. We found this hotel to be clean, with spacious rooms and were greeted as honeymooners with a fruit basket. The... more

I stayed here for about a week during a conference. The noise on the first night, from a wedding reception was crazy. I had a broken lightbulb that I tried to get fixed for a week, with no luck. The room was OK, plain, but sufficient Good food and breakfast. Internet connection is complicated and intermittent. The service was mixed.... more

Overall the hotel was ok... Generally it was a nice stay (stayed there 2 separate nights either end of a tour), for Sri Lanka it is a very good standard, the staff are very helpful & courteous, nice bar with a pool table, nice food in the restaurants, rooms generally nice, spotless bathrooms. It also has an outdoor swimming pool... more

Not an impressive first look when you enter the lobby, rather its a depressing one. I was upgraded to executive room but it was smelly, the locker/safe was not working properly. The toilet was not upto "Holiday Inn" or a 4 star standard at all. The carpet was not clean too. Besides all these problems, I was the first guest... more

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Colombo for one night on 4th February 2007 prior to a tour of Sri Lanka. We arrived on National Day and the area around the hotel was completely cordened off with lots of Police and Army Officers all around. Our bus wasn't allowed through and eventually we were allowed to walk up to our... more

I stayed in Holiday in during my visit to Sri Lanka. While the location was ideal as it was close to some of the more happening places in Colombo... I think the hospitality of the staff and the quality of food deserves a special mention. Specially the Indian Restaurant was 'Yum'.. The Prices were quite reasonable too and would definitely... more

We stayed in this hotel for two weeks during July and August 2006. The staff throughout the stay were very helpful, they could not do enough to help. Rooms were very spacious and clean. They were attended to each day at a time to suit us! Nobody hassled us to leave the room so that it could be attended to.... more

This is a nice hotel in the heart of Colombo. We stayed here for about 12 days during the hottest month in Sri Lanka. So the airconditioning came in handy. The rooms are well appointed and were nice and clean. The rooms come with an inhouse safe - very handy and easy to use. We needed an ironing board on... more

This place really needs a revamp. The interior is dated, dusty, decrepit in parts. The service is abysmal. For $75 USD you'd expect more. If you can, pay the little extra and stay elsewhere. The street is dreary, the pool is OK, the breakfast is sloppy. Never again. more
