As we have done for the last 5 years my wife and I spent the Rosh HaShanah (Jewish New Year) holiday at the King David (this year they had an upgrade in lieu of 250 American Express bonus points). As loyal returning clients (our children and grandchildren join us as well) we obviously love the hotel. We enjoy especially the... more

Stayed for 5 days as part of a 14 day tour of Israel. The King David is still a wonderful hotel with a very courteous and professional front desk staff. Upon arrival we were given a wonderful room with a view of the pool and gardens but had specified through our travel agent that we would prefer a room with... more

The King David is in a great location and this made it easy to walk to the Old City - but friendly customer serice was lacking, our room was very average and the breakfast (included with rate) was mediocre. The staff at the front desk were not well informed and could not answer basic questions. There is a Waldorf Astoria... more

The King David is THE place to stay in Jerusalem. It is an exquisite hotel and perfectly situated. I booked the basic room through the Leading Hotels of the World website as it was difficult to book through Dan Hotels. When we checked in at 1:00PM we were astounded to see that they had upgraded us to a magnificent suite... more

If you want style, elegance, beauty and history stay here. The food was lovely, the location perfect, the view beautiful. We saw some politians and history in action. If you want all the above, stay here, I loved it and will stay here again. If you want a modern, perfectly renovated, designer label, anonymous place this is not the right... more

We stayed here for 5 days in August. The service was very nice, trying hard to accommodate--for example, they traded our two rooms for a quiet, corner suite (although, later, we realized that in doing so, we lost a bathroom). We found the hotel understaffed, especially for the 700+ dollars we were paying, nightly. More than once, the concierge disappeared... more

We were treated to a stay here for a family event, and while the KD is full of character, there are nicer places to stay for the same price. There is an abundance of staff ready to sidle up to you at every turn, managing to be both obsequious and patronising at the same time. Yet when we arrived to... more

As an Israeli I was sad to see how average and in bad shape the King David hotel has become. It is indeed an iconic hotel and it's days as a deluxe 5 star experience are gone. We went to Jerusalem since I wanted to treat my partner to a weekend in his favorite city, and Jerusalem is indeed amazing,... more

The King David is an iconic hotel, as it was the British Headquarters whilst Israel was under British administration, and I wanted to stay here principally for that reason. Apart from that, you would probably be better off at the Citadel (which was where Condoleeza Rice was staying while we visited) or one of the soon opening luxury hotels which... more

I had a pleasant stay at the King David -- not great, not terrible, just fine. The location can't be beat, and it feels very safe, but I think the glory days of this hotel have passed. My room had an amazing view of the Old City, but the decor was average and the bathroom was not updated recently. My... more
