We have just got back from 10 nights at the Oberoi and would like to share our opinion. Firstly we enjoyed out stay and achieved our goal of rest / recuperation / rejuvenation. The hotel grounds are very pleasant and contribute to the overall feeling of well being. Beach is token gesture really, but pool facilities are excellent. Hotel was... more

The Oberoi is Superb! Staff very friendly, professional and friendly and check up on Guests consistently food and drinks pricey though, however it can be expected of a 5star resort, I have noted that some reviewers have complained they became bored at the Oberoi / Maurituis, fast check-in There is so much to see and do in Maurituis, you do not... more

If you're reading this because you have booked a stay here, don't worry, there are positives to this hotel. The pools and beach are really nice, quiet and very clean, it's good for watersports, but we had a number of issues during our stay. We've been lucky enough to stay in 5+star accommodation on many other occasions but this just... more

The Oberoi was pure luxury, the staff were fantastic and made a real fuss of our 4 year old. Kids menus were great, pools were excellent and beach fabulous. Rooms were luxurious and they upgraded us to a villa with it's own private pool - our son was delighted! Only downside was the kids club was practically non-existent. There were... more

My wife and I have just returned from 10 days in Mauritius staying in the Oberoi hotel. We have very similar feedback to Samandali (except for the spa but more on that later). in summary - disappointing compared to other 5 star hotels that we have experienced and way over priced for what you get. To start with the positives:... more

We have just returned from staying at The Oberoi. The rooms and gardens are beautiful and the beach and water sport facilities excellent. The rooms are large, well maintained and cleaned to a high standard. I agree with the other review which stated that all the staff are clearly trained to say "hello" or "enjoy your day" but surely that... more

We stayed at the Oberoi for the first week of our honeymoon. We had high hopes after reading so many good reviews on tripadvisor, but unfortunately we felt a bit let down. We've stayed at many 5 star hotels all over the world, and my wife and I are very easygoing but several issues left us feeling annoyed and frustrated.... more

To echo the sentiments of the reviewer below, this place is absolutely stunning. It is more private and less "resorty" than Le Touessrok (for example). It lacks the convenience of the Le Touessrok in relation to food as it does not have the same half board package and the restuarant is expensive. However, it more than compensates with the amazing... more

We read a number of the reviews with great interest and its amazing what people complain about - ships on the horizon, hard sand, too many birds, not happy with the prices........You can't please all of the people all of the time! Personally we had a fantastic stay at the Oberoi, the staff are lovely and friendly without being intrusive... more
