Two nights in Moscow is not enough to do this sprawling and historic city justice - but if you do have just a few nights, I would advise staying more centrally than the Renaissance, which was built for the 1980 Olympics. That said, this hotel provides genuine good service with personal touches. The food is good - although the choice... more

Having stayed at several Renaissance Hotels and enjoyed them we thought we were playing it safe when we picked this hotel for the Moscow leg of our Russia trip. But from the start until departure our stay was marred by unfriendly and inattentive staff and the major refurbishment of the lobby floor. To be fair to the hotel, the room... more

This is my second stay at this property, and I’ll certainly be back. It’s walking distance to my office here, so that’s what drives my visits. First, a travel lesson: I erred by departing the US on a Saturday evening, which put me into SVO Sunday evening when EVERYONE in Russia was returning. I spent fully 2 hours in the... more

I made a reservation at Renaissance Hotel on 11 April, and cancelled on 21 April for a business trip in May. Unfortunately they had a "No Refund" policy attached to the booking therefore have charged £1,679.00 for a 2 night stay in May and refuse to refund. To add insult to injury I asked if I could change the booking... more

I happened to read all the reviews concerning Renaissance Hotel posted on this site after having already booked the hotel and was not expecting too grand a welcome... I booked this hotel directly, so my hubby and I can have 4 days away from the kids. I was really worried about the visas. I should not have worried. The staff... more

Oh my, Moscow has become really, really expensive. We paid EUR 300 per room per night (without breakfast) for a comfortable but unremarkable hotel room suitable for business travellers. The hotel is not centrally located at all so does not automatically appeal to tourists (I guess). We were there only because our company had chosen it as a meeting venue.... more

Paid $795 a night for this hotel since all hotels were sold out. The room was on par with an average Holiday Inn and just above the likes of Travelodge/IBIS etc. The size of the room was tiny. Housekeeping did not clean the room automatically and there was a hair in the food ordered through the room service. The frontdesk... more

Beautiful hotel with a comfortable bed and many choices of pillows and towels. It is located in the precinct of the 1980 Olympics but not within walking distance of Red Square. However, when we were there, they had recently started a shuttle bus that ran hourly after 4pm to and from Pushkin Place (near Tverskaya Street - a shopping precinct)... more

Just returned from a business trip to Moscow where I stayed at the Renaissance for 2 nights. This was my second stay in this hotel, which I generally like. The hotel is a bit outside the city centre but the metro is reletively close by (10-15 minutes walk) - the hotel also provides a free shuttle bus to/from the city... more

This is a top-notch hotel in every aspect except one--I would HIGHLY recommend you not use the room phones in the hotel, especially if you are calling the U.S. or outside of Moscow. The U.S. long distance rate was an insane $10.00 a minute. I did not realize this until it was time to check out and had a $50.00... more
