My family and I stayed at this hotel and had a great experience. The hotel was recently renovated(completed in 2-07) . We were hesitant about staying at the hotel when we had looked over some of the reviews. We called the hotel and found they were completedly remodeling the entire hotel. We were very pleased with the new rooms. The... more

This is a sad little hotel that tries hard but can't overcome some basic negatives. Cleanliness: OK Rooms: Nicely appointed. Nice brand for toiletries. Air conditioner is impossible to figure out.. had to sleep with the windows open. Internet is wired/wireless (free). Couldn't get the phone to accept incoming calls. Location: close to the orange line.. you have to hike... more

The renovations at The Clarion Collection in Arlington seem to have drastically improved the hotel, judging by reviews from previous travelers. The rooms are well-appointed, relatively clean (we did find a cigarette butt on the floor of a non-smoking room). There is a free, full breakfast and even dinner some nights of the week. The hotel is mainly business travelers... more

When I first read reviews here I was a bit concerned. I was pleasantly surprised. I endorse the later reviews (July '05 on). I stayed in the main bldg. The bar/lounge on the top floor was lightly used. Drinks were very cheap. $1 for soft drinks and IIRC coctails about $3.50. HiDef TV for sports. Free newspapers, but they were... more

The front desk staff was incredibly rude and uncaring. We were treated like second rate citizens just checking in. Then, we were put in what was supposed to be a non-smoking room that was overwhelmingly smoky. I was able to change rooms but again was treated with disdain by the front desk clerk. The building you see in the photos... more

It all depends on your needs. If you're looking for a great view and outstanding amenities, keep looking. If you're looking for a clean room where you won't spend a lot of time anyway, this is for you! We talked to a business man who'd been staying here for nine years! The hotel was full, so we were not able... more

I learned a valuable lesson....read the reviews FIRST before I book a hotel! We had a small room in the building behind the very dirty pool, and stayed there for 3 nights until we decided to get one with a larger bed. For the next 4 nights we were in the main building, which has very large rooms and the... more

I'm from Central, Illinois. Like in a prior review that I read, I was traveling with my 12 year old daughter. We were going to Virginia to visit a family member near Virginia Beach. And, I decided to make arrangements to visit DC for a few nights during the trip using my Choice Privileges Points. Initially, I was concerned about... more

I've just read all the reviews and find them a bit harsh. Our experience with this hotel was very good. The people at the desk we pleasant and helpful. Norma was the best. We got lost coming to the hotel from Dulles. Norma guided us in. She stayed on the phone with us for a good 15-20 minutes right unitl... more

After paying for the trip in January and then reading the reviews in May I was afraid that our Girl's Trip to DC would be ruined with a smelly hotel room and rude staff. My daughter, age 12, my best friend and myself.. both 40ish were determined to make the best of a bad situation. We were greeted by helpful... more
