We went to Helen to get away and celebrate my 50th birthday.I can honestly state that I would have rather stayed at home.Thank goodness I took my own pillow because the bed linen,pillows,and mattress were all very worn and had a musty mildew smell as well as the entire room.One would think your nose would get tired of the smell... more

Our room was old and run down. Smelly. Had mold on ceiling everwhere. Mold in the Bathroom and was dirty, floor was coming up in the bathroom. Carpet was dirty. Our room really needed to be redone. I loved my stay at the Helendorf and would suggest anyone wanting to be at the best location in helen, would look up this hotel.... I would also like to add that the staff was excellent. I am a return visitor to the Helendorf . It is not for the high maintenance type, so if you are used to the Ritz, then this is not the place for you.
