I just returned from a great stay at the Hotel Monaco. I had a river view king room on the 10th floor which had a very nice view. The room was very comfortable and the staff was great. The hotel location was perfect, close to the action but not too noisy. more

I can only confirm the positve reviews previously mentioned. We stayed in room 1112, King with River View. No noise and very comfortable.The price was a bargain at $191 a night. I spent one night at the Monaco, and it was too short a stay. The location was perfect for me, close to the theatres. I had a tall room, which was fun (think tall ceilings, extra-tall robe plus regular sized robe). Only problem I had was to adjust the shower head--I needed to climb on the side of the tub... more

This was a very nice hotel. Maid service excellent. Clean rooms. They have a wine hour at night and coffee hour in the morning which are nice extra touches. The beds were comfortable. The only problem was the outside noise. more

We stayed in the Monaco six nights when we were over for the Chicago Marathon this year. The location close the Chicago River is excellent and very central. With River View rooms you have a proper view including Trump Towers and Marine City on the opposite side of the river. The atmosphere of the room and lounge is very comfortable.... more

Stayed at the Hotel Monaco from 10/9/08-10/13/08 for the Chicago Marathon. Hotel is in a convenient location to get to from airport (Midway). The Monaco is a very nice and comfortable hotel in an excellent location. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. The staff is not as "friendly" as some described, though - we found them rather "professionally friendly", some even a bit smug (the concierge and one tall front desk guy).
