Staff was everywhere and always helpful. Although we took a cab to and from Union Station, it was easy to walk around the neighborhood. A bus stop for the northbound 22 Bus across from the hotel at Hubbard, and a Bus stop for the southbound 22 Bus on the backside of the hotel at Clark made it easy to get... more

This is a great hotel only one block from the river. It is easy to walk everywhere downtown from here. As a family with dietary restrictions, it was very nice to have the kitchen and be able to avoid eating out. The breakfast here is huge, and it is included. The breakfast room is nicer than most restaurants. We didn't... more

Booked a one bedroom with Marriott points, but after much discussion with front desk/manager on duty we were upgraded to a two bedroom luckily because the General Manager walked by and took care of us. My girlfriend and I are both Platinum members but front desk did not want to budge. The General Manager was awesome and got it all... more

I just arrived a few hours ago, and I must agree that the staff is friendly but unbending to give a gold member an upgrade. I agree with the smallest suite review!!! I was directed to three other rooms before I found one where I could finally open the drawer in the bedroom without hitting the bed, but there was... more

My husband, teenaged son and I stayed there last weekend. We had a one bedroom suite and it was the smallest square footage ever! We had to rearrange the living room furniture to open the sofa bed. The bedroom had only enough room for the king bed and 2 nightstands and about a one foot area at the foot of... more

Stop searching for over-priced hotels! We are a picky 35-something couple wanting to stay in an affordable, yet accessible to all the activiites in downtown Chicago. The Residence Inn is really easy to get to. Forget renting a car, hop on the CTA blue line from O'Hare and get off at Clark/Lake Street station. Then, you're literally a 7 minute... more

We'd agree with almost all the previous positive comments. Yes, the odd 'split/ 2 level' lobbies are not very welcoming, and the food quality at breakfast (and especially the evening) could be better. Also, the bathroom basin should be in the main bathroom, not the bedroom. But, otherwise, we had a great stay. The location is very convenient, with several... more

I've stayed in quite a few hotels downtown Chicago but this is definitely one of my most pleasant stays. The rooms are clean and new, but what really took me back was the friendliness of the staff. Every time you see a staff member, they ask you how your stay is going and how your room is and if they... more

We spent 4 nights at the Residence Inn River North in downtown Chicago with our 3 young children. It was a fanastic experience-my son said it was his favourite vacation ever. The hotel is brand new but the employees are definitely not rookies-everyone that we spoke to was polite, helpful and in a cheerful mood. The hotel was very clean.... more
