This hotel has no room service, bear in mind that. Not even hot water supply when you request for it, hence you can forget about coffee or tea in your hotel room, or even for convenient foods (Asian style) which require hot water. For families with babies, I guess you can count Tremont out. Reception had a lady which was... more

Room (12th floor) wasn't huge but perfectly OK. There were no curtains but adjustable blinds, which made the room more spacious. Location is a major plus and the price resulted in very good value for money. WiFi didn't reach the 12th floor but was available (free) in the lobby area. The Tremont should appeal mainly to the individual/leisure traveller who... more

Pleasantly surprised after reading negative reviews. Our room on 12th floor was fairly spacious, clean and neat. We were in Chicago for a seven-night (shopping and eating!) break so were hardly in our room. Had done some last minute shopping before check-out and found that access to our room had been deactivated while we were out! No other complaints. more

Be aware that this is a very basic hotel. It is old, the furniture is worn, the mattresses are thin, etc. However, we paid about $130 a night, and I doubt we could have stayed anywhere else in the area for under $220. The location is perfect; a block from the Hancock and Water Tower Place. The staff seemed nice... more

We arrived and the desk gave us a small 5th floor room directly out of elevator, above air conditioned compressors running night and day, and whithout window curtains!!!!!! My wife and I didn't sleep the first night for noise and light!!!!. The day after we asked for a new room and a bored woman, finally, gave us a new room... more

Got a Priceline rate of $130. Like other users was a bit apprehensive considering some of the negative reviews. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that our room was clean and reasonably spacious. Not too much choice in TV channels and the accommodations where very basic but we are not the type to spend a great deal of time... more

I need to contact Hotwire as this is NOT a 3 star hotel. NO hot water, old, small dingy rooms. STAY away! more

We stayed for two nights and were very happy with the accomodations. Much better than when we were here five years ago. This time we had a remodeled corner room on the 12th floor with 3 windows and a view. The staff was efficient and treated us great. We would definitely return for a third time. more

After seeing mixed reviews, I was a bit apprehensive but our stay was great. The staff was professional and very helpful. The location was perfect. Our room was lovely and had an amazing view, looking out onto the John Hancock building with Lake Michigan visible down the street. Complaints we had seen included no ice and no workout facility. Whoever... more

For the love of God, whatever you do, DO NOT take room 307. Suffice it to say that I would rather set my hair on fire than spend two minutes in that room. Shudder! After asking for another room, was pleased with what I got. The decor is a bit "Quacker Factory-ish" ala dried floral wreath, plaid pillow shams and... more
