My wife and I travelled to Philly for the first time Oct 1 for five nights. Just wanted to see the sightsand relax after five days of watching grand kids! This property is right where we wanted to be. Walked to everything without ever feeling at risk. Excellent history, shops, restaurants all around. The hotel is a little old, but... more

Comfortable and clean room. Helpful, but not particularly friendly staff. Good location for leaving the car (fairly pricey parking) and exploring the old town on foot. Note that despite the 'official' address, the main entrance and parking structure are actually round the corner in N 4th Street. Where this hotel was dreadfully let down was with the breakfast buffet -... more

I stayed at this hotel for a business meeting. All the staff were very helpful and pleasant and it is a great location, about 7 blocks from the convention center and near the liberty bell. It is close to good restaurants and shopping also. The hotel was clean but I checked in a couple days after the time change to... more

This hotel is centrally located in the heart of America History. Right behind the hotel is Ben Franklin's grave. American history is everywhere in the area. Philly is not known as the safest city, but I felt safe walking around in the area--night and day. Great thing, we did not have a car; most of what we wanted to see... more

This Holiday Inn is not your regular "inn" but a very nice hotel, at a great price for Philadelphia. It's a red brick building with beautifully decorated lobby and rooms. It's smack in the center of the historic district, practically around the corner to the Liberty Bell and most of the historical points of interest. The only down was having... more

We selected this hotel from the brochure for the Philadelphia Distance Run, as a place to stay the night prior to the 1/2 marathon. We informed them of our intent to run the race and they were very supportive during the booking process. The race began at 8AM. The hotel made a business decision to charge everyone $50 extra if... more

We stayed at the Holiday Inn from a Saturday through a Wednesday for an October 2008 conference, and were immediately impressed by the exceptionally friendly Front Desk and Concierge, although at check in we thought we would be getting a conference rate of $180 per night we were told that we could get no less than $209.95 + $29.40 tax... more

Good location, front desk efficient, sadly let down by poor catering from the bar to the restaurant A Vodka tonic with soda water instead of tonic ? Buffet breakfast lacked choice, ordered breakfast lacked service. Rooms adequate - no more Wouldn't recommend unless location is prime more

This hotel has an excellent location to explore old Philadelphia. At times there were not enough employees in the restaurant or in the front, which resulted in long waits and rushed impolite service. Rooms could be better maintained and cleaned. Best meal we had was at the Park restaurant in front of Rittenhouse square. Second best the City Tavern, get... more
