A cozy boutique hotel with friendly staff - Don the bellman is a wonderful resource for info on local restaurants and nightspots. Our room was clean and comfortable with a marble bathroom, however, there were a couple of issues: (1) the air-conditioning - we had to turn it down every night; and (2) the television - the picture was "snowy".... more

My husband and I go to New Orleans every November and meet 15-20 friends to celebrate birthdays!! We have stayed at various hotels in the French Quarter and found the Dauphine to be great. Our room was clean, had a small balcony overlooking Dauphine, and the hotel has the cutest little courtyard perfect for morning coffee. It was a little... more

We didn't choose this hotel for ourselves -- it was booked by the American Heart Association, at whose convention my husband was working. I flew down to join him. My husband stayed here for six nights, I stayed there for one night. From the moment I arrived, I was very impressed. I took the airport shuttle, it pulled up in... more

The Dauphine Orleans is an oasis of tranquility, given its proximity to Bourbon Street. The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful, the rooms were large and the beds super-comfortable. There is no restaurant as such but the complementary buffet breakfast was perfectly adequate. In any case, who dines in a hotel in New Orleans? On the other... more

We booked a last minute getaway to New Orleans and found the Dauphine to be simple but elegant. We stayed on the second floor in a deluxe king-bed room which was perfect. The only con was the view of the garage but if you ask for a courtyard view I am sure they may oblige. It is one block from... more

When we arrived the hotel was dirty and the rooms were not up to the standards in the pictures or as promised. We had to ask each day for our room to be cleaned housekeeping complained they didnt have any towels to do so. On our second night there after returning from dinner we came back and there were other... more

After reading trip advisor notes, chose Dauphine Orleans. If first impressions are accruate the hotel should have been a dive. We drove up, waited in the car for 10 minutes, while watching the porter carry on a laughing conversation with someone else while glancing several times at us in the car. After the 10 plus minutes, he causually walked to... more

I booked two nights at the Dauphine Orleans based on the reviews I read here on Tripadvisor. I did a lot of research to find the best room for the best deal in the French Quarter...I'm convinced I found it! Over the last few years, my rooms at other hotels in NOLA/French Quarter were extremely run down and somewhat grungy.... more

We stayed for three nights in July 2008. The hotel is currently undergoing construction. We were assured it would not affect the hotel guests in any way. This was slightly untrue -- unless you got up at 8AM, and you happened to be on the third floor while they were renovating the room right beneath you, and using jackhammers, you... more
