I was referred to the Empress by a close friend, and business associate. He recommended that I stay at the Empress since I did not want to pay alot for a hotel, and yet still be close to the FRENCH QUARTER. The Empress Hotel was VERY reasonably priced and the location to the French Quarter could not be beat !... more

After reading the reviews I was cautious to book online. Since I was driving into town and on a tight budget, I decided to check them out in person. I was pleasantly surprised by a very unique little hotel. The room was basic but very clean. The staff was very helpful and offered advice on the sights. The free parking... more

Reading the reviews for this place brought back nightmares from a few years back. When Katrina hit town I had hoped she had wiped this place off the map! I went to NOLA for a weekend several years back, and not being familiar with the city, unwisely booked a room here. Everything appeared normal from the street, but after walking... more

I stayed in the Empress for the New Year and I have to say it is not a 5star hotel but for the price I was very happy the staff was very helpful and the location was great only 5 a five minute walk to Bourbon Street. I would highly recomend this hotel for the budget minded traveler. 5 Stars... more

incredible how they can advertise this as a European style hotel. I have been to Europe, their hotels are not like this, and Ive stayed in the red light district! Thankfully, our brother in law managed to find us three rooms at another Hotel. We left straight away, however the hotel insisted on us paying for the night. I am... more

Terrible is way too gracious rating for this hotel. If you enjoy, Spiders crawling on you in your sleep, Roches, Black Mole, Continously damp "wet" floors, pancake pillows, stinky comforter on a springy full size matress, space heater that is either on or off (No Thermostate), NO door nobs, no phone, 9" tv with no remote, not to metion the... more

Nothing could have prepared us for this dingy little place. If you think the reception is bad wait til you see your room. How can I describe it. It makes me laugh when they say european style hotel. It was so small and dirty (coachroaches galore). If this place wasn't bad enough the location is anything but safe. You have... more

My sister and I booked a room at this place through a travel agency. When we arrived,it appeared to be a decent place. So I asked if we could book our room for two more nights. No problem. On our 3rd night when we arrived back at the motel,we asked for our room key only to be told we didn't... more

This place is pretty gross. It was super hot in our room and we only had one very small bed. It's a fair walk to the French Quarter; however, you have to walk through a pretty sketchy neighborhood to get there (we actually got chased by some people when returning to our hotel room...yes we had to run back to... more

The empress hotel is not worth paying more than 30 bucks a night. The room I stayed in was gross. The bathroom was scary and the shower leaked all over the floor. When I asked the desk clerk the next morning to get fresh towels she said didn't i give you towels yesterday! I payed $100 a night to stay... more
