I have stayed at the 1870 Banana Courtyard Bed and Breakfast many times in the past nine years and love it. The owners are so nice and really go out of their way to help make your stay pleasant. I have stayed at several nice hotels in the French Quarter but Banana Courtyard is my favorite. It is filled with... more

Our first impression of the unbelievable service provided by this B&B was when a call in to my cell phone from the taxi driver sent to the airport JUST for us. "Stanley" was available for us for private tours if we had so desired. We got a personal "sit down" with Mary, who offered us information about places to go... more

This is our second time to stay with Mary and Hugh at the Banana Courtyard, and once again, we loved it. They do all that they can to make sure you are comfortable and feel welcome. They are located a short distance from the French Quarter so we park our car for the entire stay and just walk wherever we... more

We stayed for the weekend at this absolutely wonderful B & B after booking on short notice, and were treated absolutely great. For our first B & B experience, I found it to be more interesting, helpful, and part of the overall experience of New Orleans. We were greeted at the street in our car, treated with a glass of... more

Stayed 3 nights at Banana Courtyard in October '08. We were in the Hexagon Room, which is the largest of the rooms I believe. The whole experience was positive for us, but please keep in mind that this really is a unique place. Funky, quirky, out there, however you want to describe it. If you consider yourself to be a... more

We went to the Banana for our second go around for our honeymoon. As it was great the first time it was just as great the second time if not better. Coming back was like coming home. Mary greeted us with open arms and we felt like family. She made sure we were picked up at the airport and made... more

The well crafted web site for the Banana Courtyard paints a picture of a perhaps, wacky, bohemian and eccentric B&B in a great location, run by fun people and serving good local food. Alas the reality is a tired inn located in a slightly run down area with security that reflects the surroundings. The people sitting on the sidewalk outside... more

This B&B has a history that is seen as well as felt. My friend and I could not have picked a better place for lodging while visiting New... more

We were on our road trip to Florida so we only spent one night at the Banana Court. It was out of this world. Mary and Hugh are the nicest people ever. They are so hospitable, we felt like we were visiting with relatives and not B&B owners we just met. They are very prepared in showing you the best... more
