La Dauphine B&B (3 rooms) in Faubourg Marigny is just 2 blocks from Frenchmen St. music & restaurant scene & 4 blocks to French Quarter. Quiet, non-smoking, laid back, interesting, eclectic place. Good, knowlegedable hosts. Free Internet. A/C, continental breakfast, ceiling fans, Cable TV, VCR, DVD in each room, 4-poster queen beds, firm matresses. Private baths. Cool place to stay, not too upscale-- but just enough-- nice amenities (hair dryers, robes guest fridge), lush garden patio with fountains. more » « less

This bed and breakfast is wonderful for people who like a relaxed atmosphere with a comfortable room and high ceilings. The owners are Ray and Kim; Ray knows practically everything and everyone in New Orleans and was quite familiar with restaurants and other spots throughout the city. His recommendations were always accurate. Ray and Kim went out of their way... more

What makes this B&B exceptional isn't that it's extremely luxurious, because it's not. It's a atmospheric, traditional New Orleans house with beautifully decorated (though a little bit crowded) rooms, a back garden ideal for al fresco breakfasting in a very nice and quiet neighborhood. What makes it truly lovely though is the hosts. Ray and Kim went above and beyond... more

We stayed here in December, and again, it is just so comfortable. I noticed that in my last review I stated that the rooms had very "NO decor "-- and then in rereading it, realized that not everyone will understand that "NO" means New Orleans, and not "none". The rooms are large, comfortable and each one has a different New... more

Ray and Kim run a very comfortable and homey B&B. We felt as though we were visting close relatives, with the freedom of accessing the guest' fridge in the middle of the night. The rooms are large and comfy with very NO decor. W/D available. It is such a relief, after staying in hotels, to have no fear of leaving... more

We initially chose La Dauphine because of its artsy bent and its location, just a few blocks east of the famous Jazz Club, Snug Harbor. When I left a phone message requesting a reservation, Ray (one of the owners) promptly called me back, and we right away became engaged in a conversation on various topics. Upon arrival, my son and... more

It feels like going to visit a good friend; New Orleans, Frenchman Street and La Dauphine. My main motive is to attend Jazz Fest. I've been doing this for about 12 years, and stayed in the French Quarter with a friend. When my friend got married and moved away 5 years ago...I was LOST! Where was I going to stay... more

Better late than never? My teenage daughter and i visited New Orleans for spring break 2004 and were lucky enough to stay in a "just right" room at the La Dauphine. i have a couple of "favorite" places in NOLA to stay, but wanted to try something new and in the Marigny. What a great choice! La Dauphine is funky... more

We have stayed twice at La Dauphine, most recently for our daughter's graduation from Tulane in May 2006. If you expect white glove service and lavish breakfasts from a B&B, this is definitely not your kind of place, but if you want a true taste of New Orleans, then try La Dauphine. This big, old shotgun house is in the... more

We stayed at La Dauphine for Mardi Gras '06. It's a lovely little b&b in Fauborg Marigny, and the owners, Ray and Kim, are terrific hosts. We had the Alec Baldwin Suite, a lovely room, but perhaps better for a couple than for just two pals. Got a little cramped in there for us two gals! The bathroom (private but... more
