I would not recommend this hotel to anyone other than someone who desperately wants to stay in the French Quarter and can't afford to stay anywhere else. We stayed for Mardi Gras 2008. First, the elevator - tiny, slow, etc. There's no way to access the stairwell from the first floor even though we were only staying on the second... more

My confirmed reservation rate was different from the rate quoted to me at the front desk. Front desk was slow and very, very rude to me, specially the Front Desk Manager named Monica. We checked out and went to the Marriott (So nice!! Good views). The room at the "chateau" weew ugly, glommy and the view was awful!!!! No remote... more

Great location to French quarter, shops, restaurants, and other sites. The hotel is very European in atmosphere and decoration. The Staff was helpful and pleasant! If you have a vehicle, pay the extra for Valet parking; it is worth it. Charming and clean. We will stay there again. more

I would like to inform you that Chateau Dupre was the worst hotel I ever stayed at. The employees had NO professionalism nor any business ethics. You guys should be embrassed to considered Chateau Dupre one of "New Orleans Fine Hotels". The concierges (Solita and some spanish lady) were disrespectful and even called my room threatening me. Is this the... more

I used Hotwire and got a $62 rate for a Saturday and Sunday stay. I knew the hotel wouldn't be luxurious, but it certainly was not the three-star hotel Hotwire claims. I would much rather be in a Hampton Inn, because their product is much nicer than this old property in the French Quarter. The location is good, but other... more

First of all, let's be honest here. Visiting the French Quarter is a cultural experience. Staying at an older, small hotel in the Quarter adds to that experience and can be quite charming. The rooms in these hotels can be small and sometimes a little worn out. These building are 100 years old folks. That being said, we picked the... more

If you're looking for a luxury hotel, this is not it. If you are looking for something affordable but clean in the Quarter, then this is it. Pros: -Affordable (our bill with valet parking was $494 for 4 nights) -3 blocks to Bourbon Street -Near restaurants and shopping -Friendly and helpful staff, Monica and another young woman were both extremely... more

The Chateau Dupre is in a great location. It has the potential to be a neat little hotel, as many of the rooms have some unique and interesting features. Our friend's room had a huge pulley wheel hanging from the ceiling, and our room had old brick walls. I wonder what this building was before it was a hotel. The... more

My husband and I were the victims of identity theft at this hotel. Our accounts were maxed out and our bank account wiped out and we were stranded Columbus Day weekend until our bank (AmSouth Bank was wonderful in this situation!) opened on Tuesday. The manager admitted negligence that day (the thief had been brought in for an interview and... more
