Very friendly staff. A welcome supply of tea and biscuits when we were snowed in! Food excellent. Double room and bathroom were small, BUT very clean. They must have a ghost cleaner as we never saw her / him but the rooms were always very tidyon our return. Would booked this hotel again. Nicely tucked away from the commercial hotel... more

WE ONLY WENT TO THE RESTAURANT HERE. (TWICE) We came to the Abington Hotel for dinner after checking into the M74 Jn 13 services up the road because we had vouchers for the Days Inn there. Service station food is awful so we drove into Abington and happened upon the Abington hotel, which was a fantastic find. A coach-load of... more

The Abington Hotel just off the junction 13 M74 has got free wifi internet access. I use it when travelling to Scotland to pick up email and use the internet. You can get a good lunch and a cup of coffee.Much better than the over priced Abington Services up the road. Would recommend to all business. I also think they... more

I booked a single room for an overnight stay whilst in Scotland on business. I chose this hotel as a result of the free wirless internet that is offered. Unfortuntely the room I was staying in did not have a good reception so they kindly upgraded me to a family room so not only I could get the reception that... more

We stayed at this "Hotel" just overnight from a sat to a sun. When we arrived it was very quiet as it was a sat afternoon, so I put it down to people going out, when we checked in we looked at the decor and then looked at eachither, but stayed silent. When we got too our room, we were... more

When travelling on business I prefer to stay at “non chain” hotels rather than the Premier/Travelodge type of place. The Abington Hotel just off the M74 at junction 13 fits the bill and I’ve stayed there several times. The rooms are fine for the business traveller with a desk to set up the laptop and any paperwork and with free... more

I had a great stay at the Abington hotel, my family and I were made very welcome by the staff and also by Classic Britain whom I booked the hotel with. The Hotel was clean and fresh. I would definatley recommend this hotel. more

OK lets get the good bit out of the way....its a quiet location, staff are helpful and freindly, but friendly and helpful staff don't equal a comfortable pleasurable stay. The hotel was perhaps a 3 star by 1977 standards, but since nothing appears to have changed in the last 30 years...including the musty dated furniture, damp smell, tacky old carpets,... more

Many thanks to palmsie for his(her?) kind comments about my friendly and helpful staff, and for the positive comments about our advantageous location: quiet, and yet so close the M74. Palmsie will be pleased to read that we now serve breakfast for two hours now at the weekend from 8 till 10. We never strictly had stuck to meal times,...

Stayed 1 night in April 07. Not bad at all. May cater for the older customer but to be honest found all the staff (in particular young chap on reception) to be very friendly. Paid single room rate and got a double, room fine, clean tidy not really “dated”, would stay again. more

I arrived at this hotel on a damp early eveing whilst cycling on the route 74 Suastrans from Glasgow. The best rate they could offer was £55 for a single or £78 for a double room (single occupancy). The rooms were outdated, tired and decorated to a standard befitting the 1970,s. The cost was ridiculous. The clientelle were of the... more
