The hotel is not adequately prepared to handle the number of guests it can accommodate. Allow ample time for arrival and departure. We probably should have realized that using the valet service was a mistake when upon arrival after waiting in traffic for at least ten minutes, the hotel employee asked us if we wanted to self park. Have stayed at other hotels in DC area....Marriott Wardman, Omni Shoreham, Embassy Convention, Embassy Dupont, etc It would not be my choice to ever return to Gaylord National. The positives....the rooms are immaculate, the gym is great, the pool area is awesome, there is potential for the surrounding area with shops and restaurants. This is a very expensive convention site with loads of problems. The facility is beautiful, but it is very, very large, and the staff cannot handle the size of the locale. It's easy to get lost and it takes forever to get from your room to anywhere in the convention. So even if they fix the many problems in service,... more

We stayed at the Gaylord for a conference. It was very beautiful. It was very high end. I wouldn't suggest staying there unless you have the money to spend. There were some very nice shops inside the hotel in the atrium area. The bakery had excellent quality muffins and sweets...but again be prepared to spend 3-5 dollars on each one.... more

If I could give this property a negative star rating, I would. One star is being generous. I stayed at the Gaylord for 3 nights/4 days as the guest of someone who was there for a conference.
