We wanted something with a central location and this was it! The hotel is located in "Down City" yet conveniently close to Federal Hill, Providence Place mall, etc. They were also running a special "Home for the Holidays" rate that was $99/night- super deal for a beautiful boutique hotel. An old building (1897) that was totally renovated with many modern... more
We found the hotel to be a jewel nestled in a somewhat unsavory area. The decor of the hotel, its antiques and ambience, were very nice. The staff was extremely helpful and responsive to our requests/needs. The accomodations were very comfortable, nice, and spacious. We got a very good price on the room. The Hotel's Aspire Restaraunt had great food... more
We booked just one night and chose The Hotel Providence because it is within walking distance to The Providence Performing Arts Center down the street. The hotel and rooms are spotless. The staff from the front desk, bell hop, valet service, etc. are all first class and professional. The entire staff will go out of their way to help you.... more
Booked a stay on the hotel website. Called to cancel. Was told they couldn't find my reservation. Emailed the hotel and was assured three separate times my reservation had been canceled and I would not be charged. Now, I look at my bill, and I was charged. I call, they say I made two reservations and only canceled one. They... more
Our stay here was ok, but not as nice as I had expected it to be. There were a few problems that seemed unnecessary. I will also say that this hotel was our second choice, but I was excited to stay here since we try and find offbeat, unusual hotels. At first everything was great, even with all the traffic... more
Although I am pleased that you found our accommodations comfortable and luxurious, I am extremely disappointed that you and your family did not experience our high level of dedication on your last visit. I can assure you that your comments were taken very seriously and have been addressed within the particular departments. I apologize if the front desk was too...
The Hotel Providence is right downtown and a good location if you want to go to WaterFire. However, it's on the edge of a slightly sketchy area. My wife did not feel comfortable walking around at night. The property is actually converted from an old department store that was well known in Providence and retains much of the charm of... more
Our room was very nice (beds are increibly comfortable) but our room was next to a terrace with air machinery so it was very very noisy at night. When calling reception to complain and hopefully get another room, they just handed us ear plugs and they commented they were already prepared because that happened a lot !!! That's unbelievable. more
I booked The Hotel Providence based on its reviews here, and we really enjoyed it! We got a room on the 7th floor which had nice views, high ceilings, nice furnishings, and great bathroom. The bed was pretty comfy, but a little soft for my tastes. The staff was very nice, but they were a little young/green - So, the... more
Just returned from a trip where we stayed for 3 days at the Hotel Providence. It was a fabulous hotel -- wonderful location plus excellent and very responsive staff. It was perfect from beginning to the end. When we arrived, our car was met by a very friendly and helpful valet. Check in was very smooth. The room itself turned... more
