I was in Honolulu for business, and my travel agent suggested that I stay at the W in Diamond Head. This proved to be a mixed blessing. It is way, WAY too far from downtown which was where the office where I had my meetings was, and I was pretty far from the activity of Honolulu itself. However, the W... more

There are much better places to stay on Waikiki - not a convenient location as it is in a more residential area and you need to walk 15 minutes to get to the rest of Waikiki. They mischarged our room for a bottle of wine from honor bar which we did not have. The staff at front desk had to... more

I’m a loyal trip advisor user and thought it a good idea to write a review. I try to stay at SPG properties as much as possible in my travels. I was at the W Hotel in Honolulu for an extended stay Oct 7 – Nov 1. I spent enough time in W hotels around the world to know them... more

The W Diamond Head is a neat little hotel, and that's about it! We recently stayed 2 nights at the hotel, and found this hotel to be adequate. First of all, the hotel entrance is very small and hard to find off the road, which made it very frustrating. There's no self parking and the hotel only has one elevator.... more

After reserving by phone & telling the clerk it was for my birthday & that we'd be arriving about 1pm, I asked if we could check in early... "no problem & glad to have you for your birthday" We arrived at 1pm & were told that our room wasn't available; we asked when it was expected to be available, the... more

On a recomendation of a friend, my wife and I booked into the W Diamondhead for our Honeymoon, eight years ago. We have returned for our anniversary every year since. The Hotel is small, 12 stories and about 50 rooms sandwiched inbetween the ocean and Kapolan'i Park. The hotel used to be part of the Colony Surf [next door] and... more

The hotel is a good 20 minute walk from the main hustle of Waikiki so if you want to be central then don't stay here. If you want quiet, then it's perfect! Great charm. Yes the rooms are a bit older but they are lovely. Brilliant bedding. Great views. No swimming pool but I stayed in 4 hotels in Oahu... more

For what I thought W hotel quality was supposed to be--this hotel was far from nice. Our sheets had brown stains on them and they had no service to change them--we checked in after 9PM and apparently they do not have maid service that late. The bathroom was also dirty. They finally did change the sheets but it was the... more

The room is nice, but I've had nice rooms, nice rooms are not what, to me, vacation is all about. First of all, you wake EVERY morning at dawn to the insistent beep, beep, beep of the garbage trucks picking up the condo (that surround the hotel) trash. THEN I fall back asleep only to wake the fumes and noise... more

First of all, I apologize for the very late review. I haven't been very active on TripAdvisor until recently. I stayed at the W Honolulu in 10/06 for 1-night before my scheduled departure from the islands. It was a pleasant stay, though pretty expensive so I cannot consider it a good value. (A well-known R&B singer-songwriter was also staying there... more
