In this hotel we were treated as "royals". Our stay in one of the superb suites, with a large terrace, is unforgettable. The staff makes you really feal at home, they fulfill all your wishes with a smile. The restaurant serves delicious and exquise meals and the wines are excellent. I was at the Relais Villa San Martino in the summer of 2005 for my honeymoon and couldn't say enough wonderful things about it. It is set back from a moderately busy road, but is far enough away that we never heard any noise. The hotel is new and has nice facilities including the spa and the restaurant with decent food. However it is not an international-standard 5-star hotel. The San Martino is set on gorgeous grounds, just as you arrive in trulli country from Taranto. The public spaces and rooms are very attractive and well thought out, although the standard room is somewhat small. The restaurant is excellent. more
