I've stayed at Locanda Marinella whith my husband this month , and liked very much. The best hotel we stayed in our honey moon.
The staff is very frendly and helpful.The room and bathroom were clean and spacious
Breakfast is simple, but it is good!
It is in a very quiet and peaceful area,close to Piazzale Roma.
We recommend!!

We were in Italy for two weeks in September 07. This was by far the best placed we stayed. The location, at first, was difficult to find but in the end was very convienent. The staff really made this hotel a special place, they were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean, we would definately stay here again.

I've stayed at Locanda Marinella whith my wife this month and liked very much. The outside looks modest, but it is newly painted. Inside it is very clean and cousy. The room is large size compared to european standarts. Regarding the staff, they were all very friendly, and willing to help. About the location, it is not that close to San Marco Square (it is a 15/20 minuts walk). It's very close to Piazale Roma, what is very convenient, from there you can take the waterboat and a bus to the airport. It is a 5-10 minuts walk to the train station, what is also convenient. Nearby, you can find a lot of restaurants and caffes in "Campo Margarita". Breakfast was avarege. I would surely stay there again.

The Locanda Marinella is a hidden gem of a B&B which is a lot nicer than some hotels I've stayed in.
It is in a quiet area, and an excellent location if arriving by bus at Piazzale Roma, and is not far from the railway station either. It is also close to a main vaporetto station.
Breakfast is basic continental. I would have liked more choice of cereal and pastries, but there was plenty of it and it is only a minor gripe.
Our en-suite room was spotlessly clean. A nice surprise in the bathroom was fluffy towels not the tea-towel ones you usually get in Italian hotels.
Our hosts were very friendly and helpful and provided us with a map of Venice and advice on where to go, how to get there, and where to eat cheaply. They also gave us an emergency mobile number in case we ran into any problems, and looked after our luggage all day before we caught our evening flight home.
I would highly recommend this hotel (sorry B&B!) to anyone.
