“Decent place for the $$”

Days Inn Atlantic City

3 of 5 stars
Maryland
Jul 26, 2008

Decent. That's about it. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We arrived about 1/2 early and were allowed to check in. The parking staff makes you let them park the car, therefore a tip. Then they have to get your car for you, another tip. You have to leave your keys with them at all times. Only the staff is allowed to use the carts to carry your luggage to your room, another tip.
Best: Country Kitchen restaurant attached. Get there before 9 or there is a line out the door.
Rooms: Dated, faint smell, a little musty. No bedbugs. We had a non-ocean front/view room. $95/per night.
Staff: Very friendly and helpful. You can also get a mini fridge with a small freezer for 10/night.
Overall, this place is fine for sleeping. We got back from the boardwalk at about 10 pm and were out of there by 10am the next morning.

“Worst hotel I ever stayed in”

Days Inn Atlantic City

1 of 5 stars
Washington, DC
Jun 12, 2008

Based on my most recent (and first) stay at a Day's Inn, I was dissatisfied with the hotel overall, would not recommend it to anyone based on the price we paid, and was dissapointed that none of the "extras" promised to me were provided.

Upon entering, a sign pointed out to excuse the appearance as it was undergoing renovations, however, no renovations were noticable. It was just a poorly maintained lobby.

The breakfast was lousy and limited, there were no sheets on one of the beds or either of the pullout couches. For $330 a night, I expect to find sheets on the beds. When I called down to complain, I was asked to come to the front desk to get my own sheets to make my own beds! This was completely unacceptable.

Again, for $330, I expected a little more courtesy and a better hotel. The nearby boardwalk hotels had prices just slightly more and were in far better shape than this one.

I was also promised a $20 and $40 gas certificate, but the front desk had no idea what I was talking about, as well as a 5% discount on my stay. I received none of the above.

Based on this first (and only) stay at a Day's Inn, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone nor would I ever put Day's Inn at the top of my list. I felt cheated by the money I paid, and was embarassed that my guests saw the choice I had made.

“Do not stay here”

Days Inn Atlantic City

May 17, 2008

Do not stay here unless you are completly desperate. I was down in AC for a conference and I thought I booked the hotel at a different days Inn. What a huge mistake I made. The hotel is in a really run down section. There are torn down buildings along Kentucky Ave. At night there are plenty of drunks and homeless wandering around the area. The hotel attendents are very curt & unfriendly. Everything seems to be an inconvience. The hotel website lists that there is an iron in the room but the only iron is at the front desk. There is no ice machine available and the vending machine only sells one kind of soda.
The first morning i was there i left the DO NOT DISTURB sign on until 11:30 am and was out of the room by noon. As i was leaving there were cleaning people on my floor. I came back around 3-ish and there were still cleaning people on my floor until 5pm. The only problem is they never cleaned my room. When i reported it to the front desk the attendant immediatly began making excuses, talking over me and became defensive. I would not recommend staying here

“close to boardwalk and ok hotel”

Days Inn Atlantic City

2 of 5 stars
Rising Sun, MD
May 11, 2008

5 of us stayed here for my mom's 60th b.day. We were in the room they called the mini-suite. There were 3 double beds with new and comfortable mattresses and one dirty small sofa. The bathroom was very small and the tile looked like it had never been cleaned. The front desk people (we had two different men over a three day period) were not friendly. Whenever we would come back to the hotel you were watched until you got on the elevator. This made us all uncomfortable. Each day , we were given 3 towels/washcloths for 5 of us and one roll of toilet paper the entire weekend. We were made to feel like it was a major ordeal when we asked for more from the front desk. Location: 1/2 block from the boardwalk, walk up the ramp to the left of the hotel and you are there. There was a Duncan Doughnuts at the top of the ramp that opened early. Overall, we enjoyed our trip to Atlantic City and the outlet stores in the Atlantic City Walk. I am unsure if I would stay at this hotel again, though.

“Better than expected!”

Days Inn Atlantic City

2 of 5 stars
Philadelphia
Nov 10, 2007
1/1 found this review helpful

After reading a few of the reviews here and elsewhere, we were hesitant to stay at this Days Inn... However for the time of year (November), and it being a Friday night, we thought it was much cheaper to stay here than the casinos... Bed was very soft! Unlike usual hotel beds that are hard as rocks. The lobby was a bit run down but under construction and the continental breakfast consisted of a coffee machine and maybe a biscuit or muffin. Had no desire to even look. Elevator was old school and smelled funny! Parking was free and under a roof. Overall, decent stay for a decent price. Walkable to Ballys and the Taj. 1/2 Block from the boardwalk! If you don't mind the funny smell of a motel and a small bathroom, it's not bad for a night at the casinos!
