first of all can i just say to all the moaners 'get a life'
the hotel and especially the staff were fantastic (a little tip goes a long way). The mixes of foods are a little strange but how do you cater for so many different nationalities.
Naama bay is only 15-20mins walk away and taxi's will only rip you off if you let them - it should cost between £1 and £2 to get to naama bay which isn't a lot.
we got hassled a little on the walk into naama but if your firm AND polite so are they.
The hussle and bustle of naama bay at night is fantastic
All the bars and restaurants along the promenade close at 12 midnight but in naama bay they are open much later.
hope this review helps.
have a great time

“Avoid this hotel”

Sonesta Club Sharm El Sheikh - Naama Bay

This hotel must be the worst in Egypt. The food was awful, the staff unpleasant, drink warm and the glasses they were served were disgusting.
Had booked for Ghazala Gardens where we had been before and advised in Feb of a change - what a rip off - there is no way that Sonesta is of the same standard.
Entertainment very poor - even had bingo one night!!!
Not worth writing more - just a hotel to be avoided.

can i just say,we loved it 2 adults 2children (6)& (4). the hotel is clean and is tended to night and day by an army of workers pools are cleaned during the night..Idid not have a problem with the food i admit sometimes they have some strange mixes. rices potatoes ,veg, fish ,chicken, pasta station salad bars ,soups loads of pudds are always on the menu noon and evenin they have burgers or hot dog and chips in the pool bar bbq in the evenin up the top pool resteraunt is busy at times but if you are good to the waiters small tip they will look after you we had fresh juice brought to the table . People do complain non stop bout the food and would walk down to mc donalds ,the hotel do not cater for british children (chicken nuggets) etc which is good as our 2 had to try different stuff.
animation staff do try their best but they dont have much to work with, kids enjoyed kids club ,my girl loved mini disco.we didnt have much to do with reception only to get water tokens only prob we had was a non flushing toilet and it was fixed it 5 mins.
now can i get on to some of the faults BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE DO NOT HAVE A HENNA TATTOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! both my kids have had a reaction to itlooks like my girl might have a bit of scaring lets hope it clears. We could not keep our room as we had a late flight there was no room to have a shower only the health club no privacy there. these are the only thing i could fault with our stay
We loved the sonesta would stay there again no problem
p.s. please ask the bar staff to smile kareem!!!!!!!!1

“Sonesta Club never again”

Not the best of hotels. Food really terrible. My husband got ill two days into the holiday. He was ok after a couple of days. Too far away from Naama, and the taxi's will rip you off. Please be careful which taxi's you get. Hotel much too big. Saw a couple of the staff smile. Cannot understand why people love Naama, as we thought it was a dump. I do not think we will be going back to Egypt, as this stay really put us off it. I must say thank you Thomas Cook for putting us in a crap hotel, and really spoiling our holiday. (this was not our chosen hotel)

“Stayed in Worse/Stayed in Better!”

Sonesta Club Sharm El Sheikh - Naama Bay

Jul 21, 2008

The hotel and grounds are clean and tidy.

Pools are numerous, but sunbeds difficult to find available as we found them to be reserved 5.00 a.m in the morning! This is something the hotel really needs to sort out. Better to use the private beach at Sonesta Beach where there is plenty of space.

Can be a bit of a hike if your room is down the far end so may not be suitable for anyone with walking difficulties.

Restaurant is very busy of an evening - best avoid eating at 8 p.m. but the waiters are very attentive - a small tip goes a long way! The food is a bit repetitive, but this is usual in every Egyptian hotel we have ever stayed in.

The all-inclusive drink selection in the bars is a bit limited, wine is only served by the glass, in the restaurant. Water bottles are available on a voucher system, if you run out of the 4 vouchers given you have to queue in Reception to get more.

The shop traders within the hotel grounds constantly harrass you to 'just look' - the only one who is OK is the one next to the perfume shop.

The beach at the Sonesta Club is well worth a visit - the snorkelling is excellent and the fishes amazing.

Sharm town centre is a definite experience, has an excellent selection of shops and restaurants, but be prepared to be hassled, firstly by the taxi drivers (don't pay more than 10 Egyptian Pounds and stress to the driver this is the total figure for every passenger, not each), then the traders. If you decide to walk (takes about 25 mins) it is best to take the promenade to avoid being hassled.

Don't bother with the Reps night out in Sharm, the drinks are very expensive.

The Adventure Safari trip is very good, has a variety of everything.

The Bedouin Dinner night is a waste of time and money - the show is exactly the same as one which is free from one of the hotels on the seafront and we did not expect the performing Arabian horse to be a pantomime horse.

Cleopark Waterslides - OK, good selection of slides but we were constantly hassled when on the sunbeds e.g. massages, drinks, food.

If we came back again we would stay in the Sonesta Beach (due to the better location) rather than the Sonesta Club.
