We were in Langkawi in April for 2 weeks.

Through the reccomendations here on Trip Advisor, we booked Dev's tours for the mangrove kayaking and the rainforest trek.
The rainforest trek was really interesting, and hot work and well reccomended.
But the kayaking is truly one of the most amazing experiences of my life. We spent 4-5 hours out on the water, literally on our own. Our party was a group of five and we never passed a single tourist on our route around where the boats simply cannot reach.

Experience of a lifetime, and with the best guides imaginable. They even come and pick you up from your hotel even if youre the other side of the island.

You may get offered cheaper tours, but forget them, Dev is the way to go.

Highly recommended! The guide was really pleasant, knowledgeable and patient. Dev made the effort to welcome us personally. Thoughtful gestures, like providing us with muffins to snack on, as well as a side stop to bathe in the cool waters, plus the company's eco-friendly stance, like not feeding the kites on the tourist trail, are very much appreciated. Even the boat pilots and van drivers seemed well-trained!

We came away with a positive feeling that Devs Tours really does care about the environment and is not just milking it for commercial reasons. The scenery is stunning and wildlife is abundant. A great experience - don't miss it!

We went to Langkawi in March and tried the bicycling trip from Devs Adventure Tours.

We had a great time with our guide Mandy, who showed us the Malaysian fauna and told us many stories about Langkawi.

It was just the two of us and Mandy, which gave us time to do the things we liked. For example we tried many of the local fruits at a marked, after we had seen the same fruits grow in the wild!

It is great fun to cycle along the fields and to go places where a car can’t go. You drive through small villages and get much closer to the locals, than you would, driving a car.

You do not need to bee in excellent physical shape. You only go up one small hill and the cycles are fine with lots of gears. So go for it, and see Langkawi from a two wheeler…

we first met dev two years ago when he did a free lecture at berjaya. we then went on his evening walk and learned so much! his enthusiasm was the making of our holiday. we returned this year and went on a 4 hour jungle trek. the temperature was high 80's and i found it hard, but i am unfit and according to dev's young assistant, cobra, a very old lady in malasian terms . dev himself is a true gent and proceeded at the pace of the slowest. not always me! we have truly fallen in love with langkawi, not least because of dev's tours. try to book through his website to cut out the middleman if you can. ask advice if taking children and wear good footwear not flip flops. the jungle is real and not disney!
